Enjoying a fine bottle of pinot noir this evening, slightly chilled. Predator on the tv and pooch scooched into me, while the wife is away.

What’s your favourite wine? Based both on cost, taste and value.

Ps I haven’t posted for a while. I got locked out of my account and take the blame of city not winning last year. But I’m back so now, we win

Tend to gravitate towards Malbecs in the winter and Portuguese Douro region with less tannins when it’s warmer, but happy to try any.

Personal preference is for a smooth dry wine without the very dry finish.

White wine, the drier and citrus-y the better. Chablis, Soave or Ping Grigio types.
You should try Picpoul de Pinet. Very dry, very sharp and very citrusy.

Malbec from Argentina. Cab Sav from South Australia (not the eastern Australian paint stripper), any white from Western Australia or New Zealand.

I love red wine. I find if you warm the bottle a bit and leave it to air for an hour or two most red wines taste better. If you can air them for 24 hours they taste even better, but I usually drink the bottle the same night.

Baron De Ley Gran Reserva Rioja from Waitrose. Swoop when it’s on offer. Realised just how shocking Jam Shed was after drinking this stunning red wine.
