Match discussion - United (H) - Saturday 15 November K.O. 13:30

Fucking hell, Klopp would be proud of that one

We were sat about 5 rows behind the Rag bench yesterday and their manager was honestly a disgrace. Not just him but they constantly had two-three muppets from their coaching staff in the third officials ear. It was actually embarrassing to the point I just started videoing them at one point every time they got up to moan. The manager was constantly swearing and throwing his arms around - I'd genuinely hate to play for him, he was absolutely miserable from start to finish. When Jade Rose was stronger than their player and brushed her off in the box about 3 of them got up one by one to moan at the 3rd.

They should be ashamed of themselves but it's the Rags so they think they deserve every decision.

Just checked I didn’t miss hear. Apparently I didn’t. So I suspect I’m not the one looking stupid :)
I have the game backed up on my Sky box. So it's odd because before I replied to you I rewound and checked and didn't hear it said? Can you check again and let me know the time in the game this occurred and what was said?

What? That’s a bit of a twattish reply! Why would I make it up?
I don't know, why DID you make it up?
Possibly to help you narrative that there was bias.
If it was said not a chance only you would have commented on it, there would have been pages of outrage. I expect by now Blues would expect City to be suing the BBC for more than Trump is.

Commentator really tried making silk purses out of sows ears whenever the ragettes put a couple of passes together and classic muted response to the goals. The cocomm is a proper bitter, one of many in the media. Steph Houghton spoke well.
I thought the commentary was alright but did utd play in midweek by any chance?

We were lucky enough to be sat in Tunnel Club Premier for this and managed to get up into Corporate after the game.
My daughter met about 90% of the players and got her Kerolin and Hemp shirts signed by both players. She got pictures with most of them as well - massive shout outs to -

Hemp - as always she was amazing with the kids. A proper role model.
Casparji and her girlfriend - her girlfriend spotted we were waiting for a picture and got Kerstin's attention for us. Both seemed really nice.
Bunny - she was just about to start eating when my daughter went over, but she spoke to my daughter for a bit and had a picture which we really appreciated.
Knaak was lovely as was Viv.
Yui - as always great
Aoba - she was patient with us when taking the pic which we appreciated

All in all a great day!
This is good to read. Glad your daughter had a great day.

Just watching the match today. One of the many things that has struck me is that I don't recollect Jess Park once being caught in possession, not once dispossessed by a City player. Lovely little through balls, too. And she's not a big or muscular player, so she doesn't have that to her advantage. In her own quiet way, she knits things together for the rags.
I really have to ask myself — did we have to let Jess go? I suspect this is a rare case of mistaken judgement on City's part.

Then again, you look at Esme Morgan, now regularly being picked for England. These are young or youngish players, with development ahead of them. Sigh…

The Jess Park thing has been done to death. Yes, she's a good player but we arguably have better available in the position she plays best in, ie. #10 or wide right. We needed a #8 far more so the (kind of) swap deal for Clinton was one of those that benefitted everyone involved.

Tbf that might become clearer when Clinton gets to play more.

Injury hasn't helped her settle into the team so far, but from watching her previously, she does have the potential.

Fair enough. I agree with CBB — we'll see more clearly when Clinton gets to play regularly. I'd actually like to have got Clinton and kept Park! But that was never going to happen.

I think there's a bit of recency bias here as well, because Jess is playing well now. Even when she was playing for us, she was a bit meh in her last few months. Would probably have preferred to keep her, but as mentioned, we have better players in her position, so can understand the decision to let her go

Just to point out the options we have for the 2 positions I mentioned that Park plays for the most part:

#10: Miedema, Kerolin, Fowler, Fujino, Clinton
#7: Fujino, Kerolin, Fowler, Beney, Murphy

We were/are that stacked that we played Park as #6/8 last season and it really didn't suit her.

For that position we now have: Hasegawa, Blinkilde-Brown, Lohmann, Clinton & Coombs (with Oyama to come back from loan)

Sat at the front for this, I know the chanting at the women's is generally a lot more good natured than the men's but there was about four 8 year old lads sat behind absolutely going through the hymn book giving abuse out to United at the top of their voices, absolutely pissed myself

And it didn't go unnoticed in the ToryGraph this morning - the whole fuckn' report was Rag-based and it wasn't until the fifth paragraph that we got into the report! Classic Rag navel gazing following a pasting.

Wha's striking is that they really didn't threaten us in any serious way, in either half, until a ragged period of between five and ten minutes right at the end. Somewhat better shooting and finishing, and that result would have been not 3-0 but easily 5-0. .Bunny, especially, should have finished that chance when she was clean through and then slowed it down by changing to her right foot. (Good predator's finish from her for the goal).
That United manager looks like a thoroughly unpleasant mardarse, doesn't he? Which woodwork did he crawl out of?

Enjoyed yesterday so much. Every single player did well. Have to give Ouahabi her dues as well as im always quick to criticise her. Kept Park quiet and has had a decent season so far.

Knaak looked way more up to speed than she did last week. Shes a perfect deputy for Greenwood. Bit slow but great on the ball and weighs in with goals too.

Miedema and Bunny have been such an interesting partnership this year. Two massively experienced and respected goal machines, but both being asked to play like real workhorses and facilitating our other creative players.

Jade Rose is adapting so quickly. Amazing athlete, pacy and classy on the ball. She could be the best CB in the world in the next couple of years.

LBB quietly becoming one of the best midfielders in the league. Tenacious yet calm. Its a credit to her that Lohmann hasnt broken into the side fully yet. And she allows Yui to push up higher.

Fujino never puts in a bad performance. So versatile and works her socks off.

Amazing to have Hemp back. She had Riviere (who is absolute class) on toast. Have really missed her crossing.

Also great to see Casparij thriving like she is this season. Have always thought she was competent without being spectacular defensively. Our system this season has given her license to contribute so much more going forward but with the gaps at the back being covered.

Last of all, shout out to our manager, Jiggy. Love seeing his team talks on our socials. A calm and classy guy. Friends who work in the game have told me hes really liked at City. Hes doing a cracking job.

Skinner has never given any other impression. Obnoxious when he gets three points and totally graceless when he ends up with none.

Obviously the perfect choice of manager for anything associated with the rags.

What is his record in management before, as never heard of him previously ?
