Strangely,that section of Maine Road is the only bit I've never stood or sat in. Your post made me realize this.

Makes me think of the Charlton5-1 promotion game,I wasn't there, but the reports / memories of how packed the ground were are really brought to life when you look at pics of 'windy corner '
from the game.
Absolutely solid packed.incredible.

55k minimum. It was rammed. If it was 60k, I'd not question it. The noise was sensational.

I dont miss Maine Road in the slightest but that picture is mint. However that stand was gone 10 years before we left.

I sat on my hands until the third goal went in when I jumped up! Fair play to the Cockneys after the game - I thought I was going to get filled in but they all congratulated me for having the bottle to sit there on my own.

Ditto.
The 3rd goal was an absolute corker tho.Moulden at his very best,from distance.
