"Peace" deal includes Ukraine reducing it's military and giving up specific weapons, presumably anything made in the C21, so nothing like the previous non-aggression pact where Ukraine gave up its nukes then.....

It's terrifying that the yanks would even bring this to the table never mind support it

Also for Ukraine to give land it currently holds in addition to what Russia has stolen.

Yep land that they have zero chance of taking due to the fortifications they need to get through. Which then puts Ukraine as risk of losing more land as it isn't as well defended and puts them at a disadvantage. Zero chance this gets accepted and Europe needs to tell everyone to stfu.
 
It's clear that Trump wants this ending and so probably does Putin now. However, Putin's terms have to show him as the victor, the eternal strong man.

Simply caving in to Putin's demands - which are greater than anything he has won, or could hope to win on the battlefield - is not only treacherous but dangerous.

Agree to this and Putin will be back again for more.

Had Trump dealt with Russia as the potential losers at the start, chances are he wouldn't have got into this mess and we'd be in a different place now.
 
This peace plan has come at such a poor time for Zelensky with corruption in his government making headlines. They need more funding and now allies who spooked, and you will have Trump trying to force a ceasefire. He needs to tread carefully.

I don’t even think he’s that malign, certainly not as malign as those that surround him. He’s simply an idiot. If I had to sell a dodgy motor to any front line politician, then it would definitely be him. He might have a nose for real estate, but when it comes to dealing with people he’s a fucking clown. Putin must have sized the daft **** up inside two minutes when they first met.
