Seat Counters 25/26

I think that for the majority of my time watching City we had probably a max of 20 home games a Season . Cup runs were not a regular occurrence.

Even then the crowds fluctuated from game to game, depending on our results and the opposition, and they were mostly "local "fans. And it was cheap.

Now we have up to 30 home games, that's plenty even for local fans, never mind those for whom a home match means an all dayer.

The League Cup and FA Cup home matches have been fairly priced in my opinion, I think The CL matches, midweek, night and in Winter need to be heavily discounted or risk a major drop off.
When we won the treble and suddenly became the hottest ticket in town, the club had a golden chance to secure its fanbase for the next 20 years. Keep it affordable for local families, welcome the out-of-town blues who happily spend more per match, and build long-term loyalty.

Instead, they squeezed every penny they could out of tourists. Sure, every game sold out that season, but we’ve been feeling the consequences ever since. Now, even with prices coming back down, they’re struggling to pull crowds for the less attractive fixtures.

So yes I agree with you that crowds have always fluctuated from game to game, however we're currently most successful club in England, and have 2 Million people right on our doorstep!

People have less money now than 2 years ago, a LOT less

If that was the reason why the stadium isn't selling out then we'd be seeing the same across all clubs.

Also don't talk about 2023 as if the country was in some sort of Economic utopia, people were broke then and people are broke now, especially in Manchester.

Its a big factor, i am in business, and this year is the worst in 20 years, everyone is saying the same thing, people haven't got as much spare cash so are prioritising.
I would guess the majority of clubs are feeling the same, Villa, Spurs all with low attendances in Europe.

I've been in the cup schemes since the start and I think the domestic cup ties have been mostly a fair price. European ties have sometimes been a bit too pricey. The first one against Barcelona cost me over £90 for an adult and two junior tickets.

I totally agree, fans are prioritising. European club competitions are not that interesting, especially in the new whore phase. Clubs have got too greedy.
If I am short of money do I really want to spend it on City v A.N. Other German club who bring a drum, 4 Capos and a load of moronic chants ?
Yes I do if it's the last game and City need that victory to qualify.
No if it's the second or third home game and we already look like qualifying.
The battle between Uefa and FIFA is a battle purely about greed. The revamped champs league is also nothing but greed (driven by the clubs)

Good post mate. I would just add that crowds are pretty big considering people's finances, too many games etc. Selling out every seat would be good but it's far from essential. Everyone's got a different budget

Most clubs struggle to sell out domestic cups and early champions league matches.
I agree with you on everything else you've posted in this thread.

I am going to Bayer Leverkusen :0)

And Madrid away :0)

Easier to get a ticket :0)

I’ve got no points :0(

Cos I can’t get to many City PL home games, and you know when it will be played 8pm Tuesday or Wednesday, mainly & not be changed for TV!!!

PL games god only knows when they will be played???
Friday?
Saturday?
Sunday?
Monday?

Happy to see City play, whoever it maybe ?

Will always be better than Lincoln away!!

I think it just proves the worrying position the club is in, that we can no longer rely on tourists to fill the stadium and they've priced out too many of their local supporters over the last few years.

People on here were saying this would happen as early as 2022, seems like the club is only just catching on
jrb and I have been saying it on here for over ten years (old username for me).

Not so much with the tourist aspect at first, more the pricing out of fans being a terrible long term strategy by the club (all clubs), but especially with the type of fanbase we have at City.

Core supporters should be sacrosanct to clubs.

1071 showing for Leverkusen but it doesn't look right, with all of these bar a dozen being in the south stand.

Tons left for Leeds too. More than any other premier league game so far at this stage.
The experienced seat counters on here will know to tread with extreme caution on the Leverkusen game. It absolutely smacks of tons of seats being handed out to schools and especially Scottish kids.
