I think the opposition are targeting our keeper because it is a contentious foul to give so play goes on, whereas against any other team a push on the goalkeeper would be given as a foul.

Harsh on Gonzalez. Newcastle have a physical midfield, borderline foul play. We had a midfield designed to attack. Gonzalez got a kicking with no protection from the ref or his team mates. Joelinton finally got booked for 94 minutes of persistent foul play.

It is harsh. It’s not that he was ‘bad’ per but that world class elite level of Rodri really proves the difference in games like this.

It’s the difference between winning the league and being a runner up and that extra dominance he brings would have seen us control a game like that.

arsenal managed to come back and beat newcastle last minute 2-1 but we folded under the pressure of a battle in the same stadium.

kinda sums up the difference between the teams, fundamentally we are a much better attacking team but we are just weak sometimes when the fucking crowd is up and we cant cope, daft flicks today and lackadaisical clearances.
