I said we should try for Eze last summer, exactly the type of player we were crying out for
Did he ever actually express an interest in coming to us? Say we did put in a bid. Then Arsenal respond with a bid of their own. He's a London lad; all his family and friends are down there. It would, at a guess, have been very difficult to entice him to up sticks and move to the grimy north west. Would he have done so? Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. And I guess we'll never know now.

Grimy? Wash yer mouth out.

I was referring to Arsenal, not Bayern. They can, in all probability, afford one defeat and still finish in the top 8, avoiding the play off round and (I think) securing a last 16 tie with the away leg first.
I know. I’m just saying Bayern could too and, as they are playing each other, I thought it was relevant, I don’t think either side will be OK with a loss.

He's actually a boyhood Arsenal fan

Okay. We'll find out, I guess.
We will 100% rotate for Bayern given it's Chelsea away straight after and we can afford to drop points in the Bayern game. The fact Arteta kept Saka on for 90 mins makes me think he'll play Madueke vs Bayern.

Eze was ex Arsenal youth and an Arsenal fan. I reckon you'd be better off bringing Palmer back as I'm sure he'd love to play for City and he's obviously got the talent to do so. Chelsea also typically need to sell given their financial outlays. And I reckon your fans would love having 2 Mancs in Foden and Palmer representing you.

O'Reilly.

Just so. And Rico Lewis. If he ever gets to play again.

Haven't played Chelsea yet but it will be interesting to see how both clubs will progress up to our January meeting.

Yes, that's an odd business, that. Been thinking about it ever since I noticed. Normally, the computer ensures that you play a club once on either side of Christmas. I can't off the top of my head remember the last time we played a team twice on the same side of the New Year mark. In the league, that is. Must happen, but it's rare.
Of course, years back, in the sixties, it happened that you could play the same club twice within a few days.
