The offside for Bruno G is starting to look more and more like a stitch up. The image just looks nothing like what was happening on the pitch. It’s been created out of thin air but done really badly, surely they will get found at on that?

I don’t know about the photo we see is at a slight angle and if it’s not dead in line or the action where the header left there strikers head it possible that it is onside! It’s just the Foden one that is dodgy by Pawson in var box, that’s if the referees didn’t have a good view and he left it to Var like all referees seem to do for us!

They should absolutely be doing it IMO - this wouldn't be dipperesque sour grapes (one thing that doesn't go their way in amongst a sea of favourable decisions), city were thoroughly shafted on Saturday and it needs highlighting and forced into the media. It won't change the result, but it might make the cheating twats be not so so brazen in future matches.

As much as I don't like going down that route it certainly worked for arsenal this week through social media they accused us and PL and Michael Oliver of conspiring against them to influence the outcome of the PL title race. Shock horror we are on the end of 2 or 3 decisions that definitely determined the outcome of the game and then Oliver gave arsenal absolutely everything against spurs and only gave spurs anything in their own half non dangerous positions ( not saying it would have made any difference in that games result tho)

All this is just a smoke screen. We should be focussing on Haaland having a blank day and Foden missing sitters. And our defence consistently allowing gilt edge chances.

This is focussing on the aspect of our play which had an impact upon the outcome, but is clearly not the entire reason(s) for concern about the events surrounding the outcome.

Your explanation is far too simplistic and simply ignores other very important points from posters.

I think most of our supporters would " take it on the chin" as a poor performance from the team, if the performance/decisions of the referee and VAR weren't both serious and critical in affecting the outcome.

There are too many poor /unsubstantiated / poorly explained and dismissed decisions from officials which have the overall effect of "distorting" the events which take place on the pitch.

Referees and VAR operators are not infallible, and the reasons quoted for their decisions quoted by media etc are used as a smokescreen for inept performances or much more sinister reasons.

We should use tech. for binary decisions, potentially including offsides if the tech. is good enough, and go back to respecting the match officials even if we know they get it wrong sometimes.

Generally I respect the match officials but re-reviewing video footage doesn't really help the officials get to the right answer. That is our experience and it isn't really improving.

His feet were off the deck. Watch this video, slow it down to 0.25x and go to 2min 45secs and keep your eyes on Dias, he does jump when the header comes across.

Challenge on Foden should of been a pen,could quite easily broke his leg,as for the offside the line isn’t parallel to the 18 yard box,as for the vertical one with the cartoon,Walt Disney would of been proud of that cartoon

Overall, I generally trust the fairness and honesty of the officials even if I don't like the VAR system.

I would say that far too many of our officials are inconsistent and incompetent, and VAR cannot be taken seriously due to the number of errors/issues which result as a consequence of or in spite of it.

PiGMOL hierarchy are to blame and are disingenuous/corrupt with their explanations /attempts to try and convince the public of its integrity and fairness /accuracy.

I believe City were on the wrong end of some inexplicable decisions on Saturday but what alarms me is the way many decisions have no connection with the rules of the game. According to the TV coverage we were denied a penalty because there was “not sufficient force” in the challenge to justify the award of a penalty. I wonder what Mo Salah made of that! Initial claims were that Phil had got his shot in before being flattened so it could not be a penalty: yet late tackles are always penalised elsewhere on the pitch. And then on Sunday we saw another flagrant disregard of the rules. A free kick to Arsenal saw the usual gathering of Gunners at the far post and their charge across the six yard line as the kick came in. When the ball was put in the net all six were offside and all in the keeper’s line of sight. But this was yet another clever set piece from Arsenal.

So rotten referring against City and in favour of Arsenal. Anyone think Everton might have cause to be concerned?!

According to an article on VAR on the BBC he was offside but not really!

The new technology was supposed to clear this all up. Gone were the manually drawn lines placed onto a TV picture, replaced with a slick animation. But that has not always been the case.

Much of it is about the little known tolerance level, or margin for error, added to the technology in the Premier League.

In every other competition, offside is given to the millimetre; in the Premier League there is 5cm grace which is effectively the width of the green line. Gudmundsson is given onside because his foot is within it.

Guimaraes, too, was just ahead of Dias but within the tolerance level.

So there we have it, PL gives a 5cm tolerance level and whilst Guimaraes was offside he wasn't offside enough!
