That's the way I understood it as well. From the highlights there was a moment at nil nil where savinho was about 5 yards outside the box with space in front but didn't want to attack it. Really strange...he chose a sideways pass so that suggests to me he is lacking in confidence. Could the crowd try to gee him up with a confidence boosting song? He definately has the ability but for one reason or another is not showing it in game moments.

Was thinking pretty much the same..how cool would it be if a song was belted out for him which lifted his confidence.....and we see a different player..

He won't say it publicly but he knows he has quite a lot of dross in the squad right now, of whom I think a number will be told they have no future at the club and will be asked to leave. Starting in January.

Got a feeling Pep and Viana are going to get ruthless over the next two transfer windows.

Up until Leverkusen, Pep played pretty much the same XI for a good number of weeks. How many times has he ever done that during his time at City?

He doesn't trust or rate what's waiting in the wings in my opinion.

I agree, and I think that is our best XI.
We could easily have taken the game but you must take your chances.

Anyway, I would make one change today, and I would give O'Reilly a chance in the centre alongside Gonzalez, bringing Ait-Nouri in at LB. I think this is a winnable fixture and one where we could make that change. I always think that trying new things should be done from a position of strength, not when there are wholesale changes.

Even if this is a winnable fixture, I don't think it is the moment to make more experiments. I would revert back to the usual set-up and I am expecting City to win well. City were gathering in strength before the international window. With Doku, Foden and Cherki, City have the players to take apart the low block.

I am going to the game today expecting that City are set to right a wrong.

Give Ake a game in a proper back line, Gvardiol needs a bit of a rest and it shouldn't be an issue for him to slot in.

Savinho has done absolutely nothing to justify his place but we need him/Bobb to find some form and confidence from somewhere. if the rest of the team perform as they should, we can maybe afford to carry a passenger or two in this and if they can bag a goal or assist from somewhere it might get them going so I'd throw one of them into the lineup.

There is also not much in terms of alternatives, marmoush can't play there, cherki hasnt even bothered to get a sweat on yet so may aswell.

Having 12 starters should certainly give us an edge!

Mad how much can change in 4 days from last Saturday to Tuesday. Mood seems back to last season levels. This is why we should remain 'humble', we aren't that team anymore, not yet anyway. Get a win today, and build on that. I dont think we'll win the league, but finish as high as possible and have a few decent cup runs and il be happy with that.

Exactly, never heard Pep use that ' they didn't try' line before. The only other time he seemed genuinely pissed with the team was that Carabao Cup defeat at Southampton, where we were probably worse than on Tuesday. Big pressure on today's game now, we need to win and we need a convincing performance
