If we are to keep him he needs to be helped out in the transfer market with top quality world class players. Not players on the cheapDoing anything other than keeping him as long as possible is fucking moronic.
I get what you’re saying but we did manage to do a decent job replacing Silva, Aguero, Yaya, not saying we replaced with better but we brought in players at that level, dinho and Rodri took a while to adapt but they did so surrounded by other top class players and we could handle it. We defo made some mistakes replacing Mahrez, Walker, KDB, Gundo. Losing Alvarez and Stones and Ake injury situations have also killed Pep’s plans I have no doubt. But some of our signings have literally been woeful I.e Phillips and others Trafford, Ait Nouri, Savio, Marmoush, Kovacic, Nunes aren’t players that just aren’t elite.Yeah but expecting to replace KDB, the best player of the PL era (alongside Henry), and the best right back of the era overnight is pretty fanciful. Players of that calibre literally don't exist.
Not sure about easy option . Until 115 is done Pep is the main reason we can attract players of any standing . Guy looks like he needs a long long rest ATM and I think once that is done he's off .I completely agree about being asleep at the wheel in terms of recruitment. Txiki admitted as much. But Pep's last contract extension was one too many because it was the easy option.
My biggest criticism of Pep now is that I do not enjoy watching us play anymore, it’s too bloody slow and boring
The PL is/has changed. It's more direct now with teams filled with pace and power and we keep buying technically good but slow small players and are out muscled and bullied in a lot of games. Recruitment has been woeful though but I think a lot of the issue is his tactics that slows the game down to a snails pace when we have the ball. What doesn’t help Pep is our midfield can not control games. Is that due to recruitment in that area or the Premier league changing.
Pep has always said the midfield is where the games won and is the most important area.
Nico G right now is the only one that is showing he’s a Pep midfielder. The others one, haven’t got the energy and two don’t have the physicality to deal with the Prem.
I think if Pep solves the midfield the defensive issues don’t happen.
The club should ask Pep what midfielders he needs and get his first choice. Don’t care about age just get his first choice.
Anderson go put 100 mil down and get him from Forest, or go get both Wharton and Anderson, we have wasted money in that area on average or players that don’t fit.
Instead go pay the big numbers and get the players that fit Peps system.
I wouldn't piss down that cunts throat if his neck was on fire.Simone
Time for some Italian magic :)Simone Inzaghi
Thisi'm quite surprised that we are only 5 points behind Arsenal with all the shit we have went thru so far
I get the inkling you're not a fan?I wouldn't piss down that cunts throat if his neck was on fire.
Absolute insanity that people think the club do anything but this. Pep gets a free pass on transfers by some on here for some reason, if someone turns out not as good as expected it’s Txiki/Khaldoon/Viana/Soriano fault, but if they are good then it’s Pep’s a genius. The club should ask Pep what midfielders he needs and get his first choice. Don’t care about age just get his first choice.
There's some shocking posts in this thread given where we are in the league.
If you wanna know what happens when your top players get too old and you don't have Guardiola, take a look at Utd in 13/14, Chelsea in 17/18 and Liverpool right now.
He's doing a fucking remarkable job.

The fact we have a poor squad totally devoid of any creativity and only 1 striker is down to who ever is in charge of transfers. I cannot see us buying a player Pep did not sign off on or want so you have to question the sheer waste of money we have spent in the last 2 years on mainly average signings.
Personally I think it's beyond him to fix it, he had no answers last season and we only got better after spending a few hundred million in January with only now only Nico regular getting minutes and perhaps that's only down to injuries to others. We don't win away from home against any decent sides anymore and I would like to know what the hell goes on at half time as lots of games we dominate the 1st half and not killing the game off due to having only 1 natural finisher in the team, and then we totally collapse after coming out for the second half
They don't deserve Pep.
They can say they're just being a realist but it's the same ones who criticised him and the club throughout the treble and 4 in in a row seasons.
