Have we ever thrown away a 4 goal lead?

The Germans were 4-0 up in escape to victory, think it ended up 4-4 with rocky saving a penalty. Buzzer played as well.
Teenwolf, his team was losing 21-31 then he turned into a werewolf and the rest was history.
Im sure the mighty ducks were losing by quite a bit before the genius arrow attack.

I've previously written about the 4-4 with Everton in 1925. City came back from 3-0 down in 30 minutes and played with ten men for most of the game:

And the Palace game:

And Nott Forest... This one's remarkable as City were leading 5-1 at one point and it ended 5-4:

And the Chelsea 4-4s:

Against Middlesbrough in 1952-53 City were 3-0 down but came back.
That'll not happen again.

I remember drawing 4-4 ( i think ) with chester in a friendly just after we won the league

I think Chester scored 2-3 in the time it took us to get from bottom to top close to full time

Certainly not under Pep, Pellers or Mancini.

in fact, when scoring 4+ under those managers, we've won nearly 180 matches and drawn 1 ; a 4-4 at Chelsea which was never more than a goal apart.

There are a dozen games under those managers in which we scored 4+ and conceded 3 or 4, but all of them have been back and forth (or 6-3, 5-3), none of them appear to be 4+ goal leads that have nearly capitulated.

In our modern era, last night was a freak (it better had be)
We threw away leads time and time again under Mark Hughes that resulted in draws. Without checking back through stats, I think we threw away a 3 goal lead at least twice in his last season.

1961 v Luton in the FA Cup.
Wasn’t that the match abandoned with us 6-2 ahead? Replayed the following Wednesday we lost 3-1. I can’t remember us throwing away a four goal lead within 90 minutes but I remember an occasion in the 1950s watching City when it came through that Charlton were 5-1 down at home. Listening to the final scores as we left Maine Road we were amazed to hear they had won 7-6! I think this surpasses even Newcastle’s comeback against Arsenal. I wonder how many fans had gone home at 5-1!!

I think their was one to Newcastle in the early sixties in the fa cup
I don’t think we lost to Newcastle in the cup in 60s. I remember we met them in the third round in January 1957 - a clash of the last two winners of the cup - at Maine Road. We lead 3-0 at half time but lost 5-4 at full time! An early example of “typical City”?
