City or Rag pubs in Manchester

I cannot believe that anyone would want a return to drinking at the Claremont, Parkside, similar or old Rusholme pubs. Even Mary D's is an upgrade.
Those pubs were my happy place. Drank in the Parkside pre match from 16 till I was 30. If I got a lift after that, would go in Claremont , too many Irish rags for my liking though then walk up to the Beehive loved watching old West Indian chaps play dominoes loudly would love the Holts and Hydes. If I went on the train would have a couple on Portland St then a bus to Rusholme and a couple in the Welcome. Quik dash up Claremont Rd for a last one in the Beehive. Post match stroll down to the Whitty and a few more Marston Pedigrees before a Ruby in the Shazan and a train back to the Fylcde Coast. Don't know how anyone can compare the East Manchester beer desert in which we are located to the great old days in Moss Side.

Piccadilly Central used to be great on matchday. Stopped going since the most recent change in owners have tried to turn it into a vegetarian nightclub.

Is Tib Street Tavern still alright? Thinking of going in there before the Sunderland game

Probably then walking up to ancoats, but I’m unsure on pubs around there

The Brunswick was a City pubs back in the day.The Waldorf was a Rag pub.Always fun on Derby Day and waiting for them coming back from an away game.

Mother Macs was a City pub as well when Les had it always let us go upstairs in a secluded bar.

Always looking for new crawls before the game, Vs Leeds was, quick one in the micro bar, then onto the Northern Monk, both open b4 12, then a bit of lunch in Tarriff & Dale, onto the Fell Brewery opposite, then the Port St Beer house, best pint was in Fell brewery…….postcard it was called. Loads of blues in all pubs. Other pubs b4 / after, the Marble & angel : Saddlers cat if I get the train from Vicky and also the Smithfield Tavern, oh and the Edinburgh Castile for a Guinness

We drive up from Cambridge and would stay in the Diamond Lodge, when we walked to the ground we would go in a Social Cub called Frankies, is it still open?

If it was the one in belle vue it was closed down last time I passed it

If not me he will always find someone to buy his drinks
Yep, there's always some out of town country hick, dazzled by electrickery and staring at buses, 'where's the horses'.
If you're not around there's plenty more who can't work out why no ones wearing clogs and the air doesn't smell of glue and cow piss.

But enough of Idaho, let's talk more local. Is it true that when Cheshire kicked you out in '74 Derbyshire refused to have you, Yorkshire said you were to backward so the government forced us Mancs, by law, to take you ?

Just askin'
