Premier League Games | 6/7/8 December '25

Palace had a five man back line and all eleven players behind the ball yet their defence still went missing. Nice finish though.

Super Sunday?

Nothing super about Brighton v West Ham and Fulham v Palace

Yes it annoyed the fuck out of me that our game was sandwiched between the two games i wanted to watch. Caught the end of the Villa v Arsenal game in the ground then the end of Leeds v Liverpool at home. They should have been on today.

I prefer Wharton, I think he is a better footballer. But, what we need is an Anderson, not a Whatron.
I think they would go perfectly together though.
I'd get both as well.

It would be expensive, but they are young English and premier league proven, they are worth the cost.

We have to replace Kova, Bernie, and Rodri hasn't played for ages and is getting older, we have to be proactive.

The general quality of the PL these days means PL proven is as much the way to go as looking to the continent.

Bottom half PL teams often buy players from CL teams in other leagues who aren’t Madrid, Barça and Bayern (even Wolves have bought from Atlético) these days. Our average teams send players they don’t want off to other leagues and they become top players of those leagues.

Top PL teams either need to be buying players off the likes of Madrid, Barça and Bayern (rarely happens), be poaching players those clubs want to buy or be buying the top PL players who aren’t already at top PL clubs.

Look at the standard of players like Reijnders and Gyokores. Top players in other leagues but look out if their depth at top PL sides. City would have been better buying someone like Alex Scott from Bournemouth and Arsenal someone like Mateta from Palace for what those two players have offered. It’s not like Reijnders and Gyokores are young up and coming players, worth waiting three years before they reach their prime, they’re 27 and look like average PL players in their prime.

Players like Reijnders and Gyokores would be better signing for the likes of Bournemouth and Palace and getting PL experience before making the move to top PL sides, if they’re ever going to be good enough.

There are still good buys to be had from the continent: Gvardiol, Cherki, Zubimendi and Calafiori have come from other leagues and do look like top players or they will be once their reach their peaks. But the PL is so far ahead now that more PL players from the non-top sides should be taken much more seriously in the transfer market.
