We all loved Warrington. It was in great condition, greens & Tee boxes very good . One of the members said greens were slower than usual, they had let the grass grow a little more than usual because of such dry weather, scared to lose them , they were very true and fast enough for me . Got Lymm Senior open on Tuesday, another new course, then The Hallamshire on bank holiday with mates

Hallamshire is great

Well done Tommy btw.

Never been happier to see someone win.

Such a brilliant bloke and to do that after the history and especially some of the brutal losses he’d had recently says even more about him.

Says it all that the American fans were cheering for him as much as they were too, he’s universally liked and rightly so.
It’s true Americans like and respect him and wanted him to win, but in part because it makes the odious Colin Montgomerie’s legendary failures over here even funnier.

A 20 handicapper won the 9 holes stableford yesterday with 26 points. A single figure has zero chance these days with so many people gaming the system.
We have a new winner! In the Sunday 9 hole stableford 29 points was the winning score. 36 handicap so he was getting 2 shots a hole.

How was everyone’s year golfing?
Ive not played for 3 wks and still another 3wks to go ( I’ve had a double hernia op) but the weather is crap so not missing it . 2026 I’ve got golf in Marrakesh to look forward too in Jan and booked in to play Delamere & Prestbury Senior opens . Roll on spring

Some quality highs and a few lows. Had my second hole in one, finished third in our member/member and won our flight in our member/guest (two 60 year-olds cleaning out the young flat-bellies -- that was a lot of fun, though we finished last in the horserace). However, played in another M/G and was an awful partner to my host, and in the fall my index went up 1.5 pops to my highest in 40 years as I finished the season on dreadful run of form, struggling with distance and accuracy with my irons. Was actually fogged out of my last round when we couldn't see more than 50 yards in front of us for several hours, so we played dice and watched (American) football.
