Really enjoyed the year, handicap remained pretty much unchanged. Won a mixed foursomes with my Mrs. as the only trophy.Played some lovely courses.

Had a poor season, started on 8.7 , finished on 8.7, 48 competition rounds.

My potential is definitely behind me.

I have started to look at the hole when putting, and it has certainly freed up my hands and arms.

8.7 is better than I've ever been, looking longingly at single figures. Currently 11.9

I started putting looking at the hole about 3 years ago, definitely helps me.

I wouldn’t say that’s a poor season unless you were a very low handicapper previously

I was until 2 years ago, never had been above 5.
Now the yards from the tee are getting less.
In the past I would always manage a few rounds near to level, now a good round is 76/77.
But we all wait for next season.

How old are you ? Bet your short game is still tidy . What are you carrying your driver ? I’m 60 and I was using a Mizuno ST x 220 driver , it was decent but I won some money and went for a fitting and got another 15 to 20 yards with a Ping G440 in stiff ! I’ve never been in stiff but it’s very worked for me

I'm 66.
I have never been long off the tee, but 240 yds has become 220. On long par 4s it's enough isn't it to make the decline inevitable.
My120 yds in , is as good as ever. I do practice alot though.

Handicap down from 22.3 to 18.2.Happywith that. I’m a post Covid golfer.
3rd place on captains day. Everyone said my speech was a classic but I was that bladdered I don’t remember giving it

220 is still very good . I’ve never been long and similar to you . My short game around the greens is good and course management has improved massively. I’ve had a decent season coming down from 13.2 to 8.9 .. All I’m going to work on next season is 100yrds in and putting . With the hope to stay at 8.9 or a shot or 2 lower

I am surprised more people don't try.

I believe the mechanics, posture, grip and most of all alignment need to be good then the visualisation of looking down the line is a real positive.

Had a dismal year, lowest was 3.5, finished on 6.2 my highest for decades. I had the yips! Thankfully it was down to technique and not the mind so hopefully I'll get back to where i want to be next season.
Had a quite bad shoulder injury this time last year, slipped on a slope, which didn't help my game. Planning to start speed training over the winter, I'm not hitting it long enough now.
