Because context exists, such as when a player is a proven champion and someone who in the right circumstances could produce consistently performances like last night in the case of Rodrygo, or a player expressing a desire to leave pretty much always resulting with massive discount like in the case of Haaland.

Im just saying that when a player is that big, he has a lot more power, so the length of the contract doesn't have the same weight as it would with other players.

Also, as I said, things have changed now at Madrid with Vinicius who was seen as untouchable and the second biggest star losing his shine and very likely not extending. I can easily see the Haaland camp taking note and factoring this in their career planning just like Mbappe was doing before. Of course he is not going to say explicitly he wants to play for Madrid in the middle of December. But these hints are not accidental imo.

Personally I would love it if Florentino resigns over the entire Xabi vs players fiasco and there is a clearout where we actually do some proper squad building based on the coach's vision instead of collecting random superstars. Which obviously means no thanks to Haaland. Him and Mbappe upfront seems nice on paper but I don't think it will work, Mbappe is just a very selfish player and Haaland needs someone with the mentality of being dedicated to setting him up, like Doku or Cherki.

Yeah I dont think Haaland plans his career over whether other club's fans perceive as dirty. And this Madrid team is a bunch of kids compared to the times when we had Ramos, Pepe, Arbeloa etc. Asencio is a bit of a c*nt and Rudiger is a hothead but other than that everybody else are if anything too soft which is why were losing.

lol I should have known that people here will get riled up at any hint of such an event.

I honestly don't want Haaland in Madrid, so theres no reason to attack me, Im just a messenger. I agree with the poster who said that Mbappe would not take it well. But I know how Florentino operates. He doesnt care about that. And for him if one major star leaves, he will want an even bigger one as a replacement. I'd prefer a harder working striker who is great at heading, presses a lot to cover for Mbappe's poor work rate and doesn't have the same stature so there is clear hierarchy.

Again, don't kill the messenger, but I don't think the ten year contract means a lot if Haaland decides he wants something else in his career. Make no mistake, he has a lot of power. It would take a lot of money, but if he pushes for an exit, I don't think it will be 250 million pounds, it will probably be somewhere around the 150 million mark. And if we sell Vinicius to PSG or the Saudis for any sum around 100, and Rodrygo for 50-70 as is probably his value, we could probably go up to 200 for Haaland, especially if he communicates to City that he wants to leave.

But these are signals imo. Its just how the whole game works. You dont say stuff like this randomly in this position.

I think Mbappe is as big as Haaland if not bigger. So were both Ronaldos. Phenomeno and Ragiano .

Its neither here nor there. The truth is if Haaland wants to play for Madrid, it will happen. This is the power of footballers. It will be costly but a 10 year contract wont stop it.

That said, 1) Haaland is enjoying things here so far. So no worries for now 2) Madrid already has a striker just as big in Mbappe. 3) Madrid currently has many more important issues than adding an unnecessary and unneeded position.

So there really isn't anything to worry about over Haaland going anywhere. And its fools gold to worry about a far distant future like that's unknown.
