4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

I also said the same about Kalvin Phillips before we bought him. Sometimes I’m right, sometimes I am wrong. When Casper does something similar and turns into a top class goalkeeper or CB, feel free to come back on here and give it me with both barrels.

Who's Casper?

Reijnders looks like he could do with a spell in the Pontins league to toughen him up.

He looks a bit lightweight and needs more goals to justify starting regularly
However we'll just have to trust Pep and see how it all evolv
No , it’s better to just write him off .
Like we did with those other wasters , Plodri, Nunes, Gonzalez and Doku to name a few .

I know we’re not supposed to judge players too early but he absolutely does my head. Stinks up the pitch whenever he plays. The chance to go 2-0 if he had looked for a corner or passed to Haaland.

I think it's fair to say he's been poor so far, but anyone completely writing him off already needs to get a grip. So many players in the Pep era have taken a year to adapt. Just look how far Nico G has come in 10 months

Funnily enough, I remember Reijnders doing one of those FIFA cards when he first joined, where players are asked to rate their own attributes. He gave himself a low rating for strength so it's not a surprise he's being pushed off the ball a lot in this new, more physical league

Yes but the thing is he’s not 20-25 he’s 27 next year. Yes supposed to be gelling seamlessly.

I get a lot of nervous energy from him. He is trying too hard. Will probably be one of those second season Pep wonders.

Yeah, I knew he had issues defensively but I expected him to be a good passer and a decent finisher, but he has been none of that.

Going to hold out until the end of the season, but he looks poor to me.

Serie A is becoming a nightmare to scout from for English teams, and whilst it's tactically a very good league, the individual quality, in my opinion, just isn't there.

Look at some of the recent big money/ high profile signings from that league in recent years that have or are failing to live up to expectation:

Reijnders, Zirkzee, Hojlund, Onana, Koulibaly.

The fact Mctominay is looking a £60m footballer and is the best player in that league tells you everything.

this guy has been here 6 months and is still getting up to speed. I’m willing to give him time. Some of the hasty ways we want players gone is kind of silly

He is a real conundrum because you can see a good player in there but he also looks like a scared rabbit playing with fear aswell . Wonder if his bollocks havent dropped yet and when they do he will be like a tiger . Also he looks like he is in the prohibition era with his moustache . Hoping he comes good .

Nice smile though

What makes you think I'm writing him off?
Your comments echo my thoughts. I've not seen one post yet saying this guy WON'T be good enough, but the self righteous on here like to interpret things in another way. People can only speak about what they've seen from him so far which in all honesty isn't very much. He really needs to step it up.
