It's certainly morphed into one...He'll make a big mistake again and some will think he is crap and needs replacing.
He adds a lot more than anyone else could at RB imo. Even a new signing.
Great signing imo.
I get more Cancelo vibes from him than the 2 you mentioned, minus the attitude.Nunes is inferior to Walker as a pure defender, but he is a better football player. In one season he can contribute more assists than Walker or Zinchenko in 3 seasons.

Is he brilliant defensively? Or do people just say that about him and project this onto him? The stats certainly doesn't support the claim. He seems to be special for a fulllback In the air. Granted, to the naked eye, he is very athletic and has that English competitiveness. But he is mostly just a young prospect with lots of senior caps. But statistically he has never been particularly impressive.

Here is a comparison to last year's Nunes, Hakimi and 2 other young prospects... He was mostly decidedly inferior to the others outside of aerial duels...

Agree, it’s like his mistakes are worse than others.
O’Reilly is amazing and was deserved MOM but badly misread the pass for their first goal. But fought back and dominated his side.
Some players aren’t allowed mistakes, this fella is one of them. Walker who’s one of the best right backs of the last 30 years made plenty of silly mistakes. But he didn’t let them affect him.. Nunes seems to be getting there.

If Nunes plays well, would rather spend that money on Wharton or Anderson.Is Livramento really better than him ? Is he a better crosser than Cafunes ? I don’t think so.

Should be a lesson to many fans as well who are so quick to write players off. There's a couple I can think off who we may well be similarly lauding in 6 to 12 months timeShould be a lesson to any player - his City career seemed over, the manager didn't rate him. He kept working hard when others faltered and he took his chance. Now he's getting better with every game. Shut up a lot of people (myself included).

Spot on. Cancelo's covering play was poor. In this team, where we often find ourselves caught on the break, a player like him would be a liability.Nunes has been far better defensively that cancelo imo

Much better in one respect - Nunes 5 goal involvements in the Premier League this season alone, Livramento 3 goal involvements this season, the entire 24/25 season, the entire 23/24 season and the entire 22/23 season COMBINEDBetter than Livramento in pretty much every way in my opinion.

He can be our starting right back for the next 5 years or so easily imo, as long as that’s what he wants and not to move back into midfield.

He looked good in the DM role. Kept it ticking over nicely. Was in the right places and even a clever foul when he got it wrong. This guy continues to grow.
