People are actually wrong about Nunes at Wolves, in that he didn't have a steady position and was moved around for them also. They tried him in multiple roles and he didn't nail any down.

People assume we bought him because we didn't get Bellingham and he plays centrally. It may be right but we've obviously never stated that. The definite truth is that we saw some attributes that we liked. Now we've found a way to utilise them.

Pep is like that sometimes.. remember Cancelo couldn't get into the side for 9 months or so and then he became practically undroppable. Takes a while for him to figure it out where best to use the skill set.

Either way Matteus Nunes is justifying himself a new contract this summer!

I've been pretty steadfast since day one he's a top player and would eventually be a great squad player.
What I'm seeing now is just a massive bonus and credit to the player and Pep for making it happen.

Nunes is no longer a centre midfielder.
Thats a bit like staying Kompany was a centre midfielder filling in at centre half.

What about O'Rieley? Is it different for him because he's younger? If I had to wager, when a new manager comes in, Nico will tell them that he at least wants to compete for a spot in midfield. Nunes is possibly the same.

Or maybe I'm dead wrong, and they're both in love with their new positions; it wouldn't be the first time a player switched positions full-time. Time will tell.

Factually he is not. But he is a bit younger and can play on either side. That said as a current option I'm going with Nunes.

His composure gives the defence confidence even when we are getting swamped by the opposition he try’s to get the ball down and get his head up yes sometimes it does horribly wrong but I love his mentality.
