82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

Was solid considering he hasnt played much. I judge him harshly because he covers so many different roles so rather than just appreciate he is an extra body in midfield and keeps it simple I want to see him being a bit more progressive in his play.

Good to see him back, and I do hope he can have a career at City.

Don’t think he can cut it at the level we need him to be at.

Not a right back and gets found out consistently.

Can do a job at times coming on as a substitute but I think he’s third choice for most positions.

It’s no coincidence that we’ve looked a lot better since Rico has not been near the starting lineup.

Think we’ll take any offer above £22.5m.

Wholeheartedly agree with this post. He didn’t have a bad game but still for me the weakest link and that’s on a good day, and any regular run with him in the team will result in dropped points. He’s just not the level we require should sell whilst his stocks relatively high.

I hope you are taking the piss, maybe he’s The captain if we lose the legal fight, are heavily punished and playing in the championship.
Me? Nope. I just watch the games with a neutral view. Most struggle to do this. He is captain material because he is one of the smartest guys on the field.

And if i am not wrong didn't he already captain the City youth side and a few English youth squads? I doubt those managers made him captain because they thought he was useless.

Even Pep has commented on his intelligence. So even if you dont see it. You'd do well to listen to the greatest Manager ever and two youth managers who thought enough his game to make him Captain.

But hey, to each their own. I just say what i see. You can check my track record. Its not hard to search :)

He played fine, im happy he got minutes.

But in any game we take seriously, RB is not his future.

While overall he played well, you can see the weakness his physicality causes as a RB, because if he doesnt time the changing of his positions between RB and CM PERFECTLY, then he lacks the pace to get back in position.

And that's simply extremely hard to perfect, no fullback really can, but most make up for it by having the pace to make up for lacking perfectly tuned decision making.

Lewis doesnt have the physicality to afford that. He has to perfect it, but that's unreasonable imo.

I prefer to see him in Bernies position where its more well defined, and doesnt require him to time the moments between vastly different positions.

I dont understand the size argument that hes too small and weak.. Philip Lahm wasn't big nor Dani Alves RatBoy etc. Hopefully he can improve and become our right sided NOR

He clearly doesn't want to be one. Which is unfortunate.
First time he’s been used there this season? That team was heavily rotated and we have injuries. Let’s be honest his future is in midfield which is where he spends a lot of time when he inverts.

I think he'll be best playing RB with great decision making instinct and a fantastic knack for supporting the midfield.
