Maybe a series of blips? Maybe anything.

Great player IMO.

Saka could be so good, but I think he's a bit "headless" at the minute. Good player and great at many things.
Great at beating a man one-on-one with a trick and pace.
Great at finishing one-on-one.
Great at diving and appealing to the ref.
The list of his attributes is almost endless. :)
Good player, could be very, very good, don't like certain elements of him/his play.. I thing he, more than many, has been quite negatively affected as a player by the "snide trick learning" style, maybe I lean towards him just needing some "good coaching". Lego head is mental :) IMO.

I honestly think that if your lot went full on "false nine" with yet another attacking midfield on, you'd probably smash the league. Who knows!


Anyway, your lot bottled it, hopefully they do it again.

They mentioned Cherki's price, and how low it was for a player of his obvious talent on Sty's coverage of our game last night.

Totally agree on Cherki, the talent was always there, he was bossing games in France, I don't know if there was a perceived attitude problem, or a question about work rate or whatever as to why there wasn't a bigger clamour for him at that price, but fair play to City and Pep for taking the chance on him. I think he is well on his way to become the best attacking midfielder in the league. I honestly think he is great.

IMO both were great players but to think that it is amazing to suggest on a City Forum that Aguero was better than Henry, is a prime example of Overbearing Tarquin Syndrome.

If we're going to judge them on a team trophies Gary Neville has them both beat. Ratboy isn't worthy to wipe Sir Mat's ass and he didn't win any trophies. Henry also won 2 La Ligas and 1 CL. But he was much better when he dragged Arsenal to a CL final than when he won 1 with Barce. Trophies shouldn't be used to judge individual performances.

Most fans that aren't City or Arsenal supporters typically rate Henry as the best ever PL player. Different players anyway, Henry would often drop deep on the left wing beat multiple players and set up other players. He wasn't just the best striker, he was also the best playmaker although DB10 has an argument for that. Aguero more clincial and better striking technique and both could create wonder goals. We're lucky to have witnessed both of them.

He was probably responsible for Ajax's success in the past, rather than Ten Hag as his recruitment was amazing. He got sacked for being a massive sex pest though.

Doesn't this imply we were better but you had better mental fortitude? Because personally I think you had far better individual talent, while we were more a team of grafters with ofcourse good levels of talents. Once we got injuries or suffered fatigue we couldn't keep up the hard pressing graft or just simply lost quality. That made us lose points. You had so much quality throughout your squad you could keep winning again and again. But if you want to claim Arsenal were the better team that bottled it, run with that, I just believe you won because you were better

The hope for me is the loss of key players means you might not be better anymore.

I think it’s pretty vomit inducing to come onto a City forum and compare Sergio under any circumstances to rat boy Neville.

FFS due to the constant media love in, most people probably think that the rags are still relevant. “Most fans” is a bit of a red herring. “Most fans” in Ireland and wider probably think that Terry Henry is a cheating Cnut.

I’m sorry to say but your post sort of confirms that you also have ‘overbearing tarquin syndrome’. I thought it wasn’t contagious, but I’m now thinking that all gooners are affected?

However this is just my opinion rather than that of “most” people. I’d rather let them make up their own minds.

Two Arsenal players that I actually rate however they should be in their absolute peak years right now and no Arenal supporter can tell me that either footballer is playing at a higher level than they were two years ago.

In fact I would say both have regressed Odegaard most definitely
 
Henry was a baller. Would I have swapped Sergio? Nah but I'd rate them both around the same level of impact in their respective teams.

Neutrals would pick Henry for a couple of reasons
1) champs league used to be on ITV for free so more neutrals probably watched him and also in the Euros for a baller french team
2) pure nostalgia for this period of premier League history
3) he doesn't play for City and our players are tragically under rated. For example if you asked people to name best ever premier League midfielders most people won't say KdB or Foden or Silva or Fernandinho but will by default say gerrard, scholes, lampard, Philips etc

This is going to cause some controversy amongst my fellow blues but on the basis of pure football ability Luis Suarez is the best player I have ever seen play in the premier league.

Although due to lack of longevity he is rightfully not in the discussion of the premier leagues best ever. However at peak performance (13/14 season) in my opinion no one has ever played at a higher level.

Just one persons opinion please don’t be mad lol

You are 100% right if it wasn’t for his mad side he really could have been anything but then without that mad side would he have just been a fraction of that brilliant player.

After his incredible 13/14 season at the World Cup he came back from an injury and basically on one leg singlehandedly ripped England apart in that group stage match. I remember after that game thinking that Uruguay were a proper serious shout of going all the way with Suarez in such form. However of course then the madness kicked in again with the Chiellini incident and Uruguay were eliminated against Colombia with Suarez suspended.

Yep Odegaard is IMHO massively overrated. There was talk a few years ago that he was the heir to KDB, that's how effective he was. For the past 18 months he's been absolutely nowhere near that level and IMHO wouldn't get into the top 5 PL creative players, for sure I'd have Foden, Eze, Bruno, Palmer and Tielemans above him.

Saka is deceptively effective. It seems like he isn't doing anything and yet comes off with a couple of assists or a goal. He has to track back a lot under Arteta's system and had had injury issues. Is he better than 2 years ago? Probably not but he'd be in the top 3 in his position in the PL and there's a noticeable drop in quality of crosses when Madueke comes in.
