City going after fans who gave their ticket to mates at Madrid

Not a chance in hell that it doesn't happen with all clubs there, regardless of if we hear about it or not.
I agree.
There is an entitlement demanded by RM to hierarchy in football which extends to Royal and domestic recognition including financial so no doubt the Madrid police will be less than fair to any other football club and their supporters.

Continually being broken or just by City fans on our frequent visits?
Enough English teams play at the Bernard Bowl and we'd have heard of similar problems if they existed. Are the rules applied more stringently for City fans?
I was contacted by an Arsenal fan who had seen my posts about access to the Bernabeu, they definitely had the same issues with names on tickets and matching i.d.

As I read this thread, I feel an enormous sense of relief. This season I never renewed as my current circumstances of living 3 hours away and being a 24/7 carer prevented any hope of the 10 game in person criteria. Although I was furious at first, I now thank the greedy policy makers at the club for breaking my City addiction, and, I can now see it for what it has become. I now follow my step 4 local non-league team, and haven't been as enthused about watching live football for a long time. No travel, no rip off prices, no parking fees, no crazy kick off times, nobody on IPADs, no half & half scarves and no feckin VAR.

Frankly, and although City will always be my team, I can no longer associate with, or recognise the club I grew to love. I have no interest if they win or lose, as there will always another game, another season, another 4 shirts to sell and another set of signings. In short, City has become nothing more than a nonstop money making machine, and at 58, I simply cannot waste anymore of my time or cash falling for it.
I haven’t been to a live city game other than youth level since the takeover , and can relate to some of your issues as my travelling was mainly from the south west . However after supporting city from the 70’s live home and away, I find the idea of having “ no interest if they win or lose “fucking ridiculous .
You’re lower paragraph reads like an entitled rag

Had to put my mortgage and 2 kids first , rather than city and ale .
You get used to not going , but can’t fathom not ever caring about results .
Could probably now do a couple a season but can’t justify the expense to myself .
Fuck knows how most fans can afford most games now .
See you at Colchester et al post 115 punishments!!!!

If it's only a Spanish law requirement, why are City following up on people who were caught out by it (which was the point of the thread if I understood it correctly). What does it matter to the club?
As I haven’t seen the original email from the Club on this matter, it’s hard to comment on why, they are pursuing this issue??

But the Terms and Conditions of the ticket sale from City, clearly states that it is only for the use of the original purchaser and not for resale???

Which makes reselling tickets for the Madrid game, with it’s checks and restrictions, a much bigger risk for the seller to fall foul of the ticket terms and conditions.

I think we need to seriously consider moving to a ballot system for away matches. I’m not saying it would fix everything, and it wouldn’t stop people passing tickets on to Blues, but it would at least prevent tickets filtering down to Matchday Members. Recently, I’ve seen most away games drop to around 10k points, which is the lowest level of demand I can remember for City away matches.

There’s also the issue with the 18–25 scheme once supporters turn 26, they’re effectively locked out of the big away games and are left with midweek trips or lower-demand fixtures. The current points system feels outdated and really needs to be reviewed.
This was not the case in this situation, as it did not sell out!!!

Therefore, if you wanted to buy a ticket from the club, you could have, if you were prepared to do it properly!!

Very surprised to hear that City fans??

Travelled all the way to Madrid, without a Ticket and expected to go to the game, without any issues or problems???

Knowing what had happened at Madrid games previous to this game!!!

So...someone I know who bought a ticket when his points qualified, and was then asked by his work to travel to the US, so he knew in advance he could not go. In our group was another Blue who was just outside the points, and was desperate to go. So the purchaser of the ticket gave it to him for nothing, but obviously it had his name on it, so after 5 mins on Google he found one of those 'fake ID' companies that for £20 delivered a UK Driving Licence with his photo and the name of the original purchaser.

At the game, even with all the UV torch checks -he got through without anyone given the ticket, or him, a second look. And he went on to enjoy the game, singing at the top of his voice throughout - unlike the 20 people sitting down in silence for the entire game in front of me with some weird digital tickets, right in the middle of the away end - so, in my opinion, if the original purchaser can't make it, and the ticket goes at face value or for free to another genuine Blue - who cares? If others have been trying to make a profit and purchased without any intent to go - then that is taking the piss and not massively different to the Tout Twats that have destroyed the Etihad.

But rather than chase these handful of City fans, what about the three rows of tourists in front of us? Nope, maybe they paid for some wanky City corporate package to experience the 'away end'?? Not one of them a City fan.
I get the point of your comment :0)

But the tickets for this match, never sold out, as I brought mine, with no points and just a Matchday membership, directly from the Club, with no stress :0)

We were definitely told that it was a Spanish Law requirement yet strangely it wasn't enforced (or even mentioned) when we played at Villareal (or Seville and Santander in previous seasons)
Can’t comment on your other experiences in Spain ??

It may well be a RM issue, that they like to enforce??

Especially with all PL clubs?

See above reply regarding Arsenal fans treated, the same way??!!

Gloss it up, tart it up, talk all you like about no rip off no parking fees no IPADs etc etc etc but you know one thing: nothing beats watching the boys. And nothing ever will. Ever.
Yep fuck him

That has been the case for all match tickets for at least 50 years. However it's far easier for the club to check these days.
