The Boxing thread

What a load of nonsense. Look at the Canelo Crawford fight. Look at how good Usky is. I train 5 times a week at a local gym and one of our pros is fighting on the magnificent seven card at the co-op in January. Hearn and Warren still put in great cards. Manchester has some great boxers. We are up there with the best fighting cities in Europe. So easy to just spout boxing is finished. It’s clearly not.
I also train in boxing gym numerous times a week with some really good boxers, Not once did I mention in my previous post about up and coming boxers as I can see for myself that there's plenty out there that's getting recognition, the point I'm making is the structure of boxing and the route it's going down over numerous years.

Hearn and Warren very rarely put in "great cards" what a load of rubbish. Take the undercards for Benn v Eubank for example, all complete mismatches. It's very rare boxing fans good a serious good list of good undercard fights.

Promotional politics and horrendous matchmaking fights is turning the sport into a complete mockery because of wankers like Hearn and Warren two absolute con men.

Obligations and avoidance of risky, cross-promoter matchups that limit high‑profile, generational fights, we very rarely get to see both fighters in their prime face eachother, instead we'll get a 40 year old Fury face a 38 year old AJ ect this shit happens all the time.

I used to go to boxing events basically every week like many other boxing fans in the area I'm in along with other connections and groups we'd constantly meet has all gone tits up because of wankers like Hearn, Shalom, Warren ect

I could go on all day about it and that's not to mention the shitty purse they offer up and coming lads to fight especially on undercards.

Anyway, that joke of a fight last nights sums up exactly were we are regarding boxing, in the bin.

I'll continue to box in my gym with my young lad as its always a sport I loved and enjoy doing, as for fragmented governance, sanctioning bodies and cowboy promoters, they can do one.

People are saying boxing is finished for the fact its becoming a circus, not that the talent of fighters aren't there, imagine the Silver Birch Sunday league team calling City out for a game amd City turn up at Wytjenshawe Park with Haaland and co would anyone think the Birch would win? That's what is happening in boxing now
He didn't call out city tho, he called out United, I'm sure we'd all think there is a possibility of the win although unlikely.

its closer now than ever drink breaks and artea's planned time outs var taking longer and longer
only matter of time before we get quick word for our partners during game it might be subtle at first cameras focues on advert hordings but its coming
It already happens in a lot of countries. When there's a corner or a free kick, you'll often see a big border with an advert appear around the picture.

We already got 36 year-old pacquiao vs 38 year-old Mayweather, when it should have happened at least 4 years earlier.

Have you sparred with anyone noteable recently?

Woke up half hour ago, watched one clip of the KO that came up on my phone and will now move on with my life grateful I'm not part of the ridiculous circus the fight game at the top level has become.

There's still some cracking, legitimate fights in several divisions in boxing but this YouTube shite? Will leave it to the likes of @BlueHammer85to get giddy over.

I'm glad some of you are seeing what actually happened in that "fight". That, yeah, there was a serious lack of the actual word from one "boxer"!

Jake Paul embarrassed himself, hugely. To think he was training for a guy 5' 9" originally!!

@GornikDaze was absolutely bang on dropping the Laurel and Hardy YT clip earlier (one of my absolute favourite 'L & H' films by the way, so thanks for that!), cos that's exactly what I was looking for in my head when watching the circus event!

I'm really not sure how anyone can criticise Joshua for not KO-ing Paul "in the first round"?? You could, visablly, see how frustrated Joshua was getting with the antics (and potential embarrassment) of Paul's game plan of sticking (??) and moving (running) and aiming for a points win/ freak lucky punch. I would feel the same expecting a fight, not a marathon!!

So, under these extraordinary circumstances and Jake Paul's almost effect mind games, I thought Anthony Joshua did quite well in a 22 sq ft ring!! I think now Jake Paul knows what a real heavyweight feels like and won't ever fight at the weight again. But he, also, doesn't have the power and technique to fight at cruiserweight either.

I think he'll wind down his "project" within 2 years if he keeps pursuing real boxers with actual skills.

Already said im glad AJ won as it puts a dent in these Youtube type of style fights - however i'm pretty rational and able to give Paul and the actual fight some credit where it's due.

It was a 484 Sq ft ring, but I don't disagree with the sentiment.

There's nothing rational about it. If they broke away from legitimate boxing and set up a sub division for all the clowns then fair enough.
What we are witnessing atm with these type of fights is a pantomime that should be treated as such.
Scripted good against evil bullshit.
