Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

In previous seasons it was clear City had a better team than Arsenal. The argument lies as to whether that still applies this season. No point debating that on a City forum of course but I think folk will agree there ain't much in it.
Doesn't need to be much in it.
Your a horrible team who constantly cheat..you'll come 2nd again and without having to try that hard we will finish above you.
Again

Strange how they haven't managed to win the title, given that they have been the best team in that period.

It’s an interesting statistical table and all that, but points when it really really matters are more important than anything, and…

23/24: they came to City needing to have a statement win knowing what City are like in the run-in and played for a 0-0, then lost 0-2 to Villa which meant their point at City was useless because City were a beast in title run-ins back then.

24/25: won just 5 of their last 13 games with Liverpool winning the league with just 84 points.

This season, let’s see what they’re like when those points really really matter later in the season.

Rice has picked up an injury and will be out for a while.

We are fucked. Rice is 100% the one player we couldn't afford to get injured as his replacements are shite, he was clearly in discomfort against Brighton but Arteta kept him on anyway. Idiotic.

So you do not have the best squad in the premier league.lol

Oof. No Rice tonight and presumably not just a one off. Could be a big turning point, that.

Luckily for Arsenal, Odegaard has come back and they have enough midfield/defensive options. Though none can really replicate what he offers to them in terms of energy and being effective both attacking and defending.

But, and I’m not taking the piss, their main left corner kick taker is now gone.

Hardly unexpected. The way Rice plays is unsustainable in the long term and this is going to become more and more common as he approaches 30

Stats meaning fuck all, except who scored more goals in a game, and who has most points after 38 games......who would have thought.

Also keep an eye on Gabriel. He has been rushedback far too early and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him break down again very soon.

Arteta is an absolute disaster at managing his players workloads

Every team / player gets injuries. You just have to adapt.

I'm not surprised, I know it was probably a contact injury but I think he's been massively overused this season.

There have been games where I've been surprised he hasn't rested Rice. Brentford (H) off the top of my head.

I think it's only the League Cup I can remember him not starting and I'm sure Arteta still brought him on.
