Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

It's the double question marks for me

Some of Gone for a Burton's last posts, notice the plentiful exclamation marks and his odd way of adding a space before them. He's a whack job.

Glenda is a fucking wierdo, out of touch, out of place & out of his fucking mind !!

Our economy would be healthier if it wasn't being bled dry by the negative impact of decades of uncontrolled illegal immigration by hundreds of thousands of young 'not at risk' males from counties whose culture is almost diametrically opposite to ours.

Oil & water don't and won't mix !!

Quotas of immigrants who have the skills required, means of support, places to live and sign up to conditional visas should be considered.

Illegal immigrants should be deported, at their own expense, to make room for legitimate contributors !!

As for leaving earlier, that is in my opinion is mainly due to the terrible infrastructure around the stadium and the truly dreadful public transport on offer?
Sorry but I have to disagree with you there. Feeble excuses.

People leave matches early and always will leave early. It is bugger-all to do with transportation facilities or anything else.

Back in the 1960s at Old Trafford, people would be shuffling out from just after 65 minutes. Back then Old Trafford was far better connected than Maine Road. Leaving early was in the culture. And it remains so for for many today at all grounds including the Etihad.

No-one leaves a theatre before the play has ended but at football matches, far too many skip off to ‘beat the queues’.

Remember the thousands of City fans who left Wembley in the play-off against Gillingham with City 2-0 down!

The North Stand is the way forward to have a better chance of improving the atmosphere in the stadium.

The facts and rationale for this have been set out in previous posts by a number of well reasoned contributors to this discussion.

Yet the atmosphere group declared their position a long time ago against the logical establishment of the NORTH STAND as THE CITY END.

Instead, their stated, main preference is to try and encourage more to relocate to the South Stand (SS) in order to consolidate it.

This stance is despite the facts showing that, notwithstanding good efforts, the SS which has approx. 3,000 away fans for PL matches and up to 8,0000 approx. away in cup matches, can never be as good as one huge stand (the NORTH STAND) holding approx. 9,500 seats / safe standing, all on ONE level, all for CITY.

It is also despite the fact that the new rail seating seats in the North Stand will obviously be cheaper than the existing rail seats in the South Stand Level 0 which is where the main "singing sections" are currently located.
  1. Who are 1894?
  2. Are they an atmosphere group, first and foremost ? A group that generates noise and backing for the team?
  3. 1894 refer to their members. Is there a membership joining subscription?
Is there a commitment that members have to give to 1894 as part of this so-called membership? Or. is this mainly an e-mail and Facebook etc. circulation list?
  4. How many fans are aware of the questionnaire that 1894 has produced? Does it have a balanced introduction and context? Are the questions reasonable and logical?
  5. What is the role of the Official Supporters Club in this?
CITY sits at the top of the league in the calendar year 2025. We are currently second this season. There is much to look forward to again in 2026.

The club has indicated on its web site that more information will be provided on the new North Stand in the new year.

Lets make the most of this superb North Stand opportunity - the club, all of us fans, those who want the best chance to lift the atmosphere and create THE CITY END.

Have you emailed City to let them know you are moving there ?

I got the questionnaire but the basis was will you be moving or not but im pretty sure like a lot of ss tier 3ers we are undecided until we see the pricing, we have a hell of a lot of singers up in this tier that would be great at helping the atmosphere in a new north stand as well

And v QPR.. if it had finished 2-2 I would have stayed to clap the team off for what was one of the best footballing seasons I could remember. I would have been pissed off not to have won but we always stay to the end to clap the team off.

Fair do's, but don't pollute the thread with any negativity towards those who wisely see the short, medium & long term future in the Blue Wall.

There are none so blind as those who chose not to see !!

I want it to work, me or 1894 aren't against it , if it works then only improves atmosphere, even better if we could improve it at both ends of ground, Club have messed about so much with no prices, no set date for opening, lack of communication with fans , more corporate.

As has been stated 1894 will help anyone who wants to move.

My reply before may have came across a bit twatty but many tell others to move or sing and don't do either themselves, it's up to everyone fan to improve the atmosphere, let's see if NS2 can do that.

This is something I've asked a few times and never really received a straight answer.

The most recent survey where it was asked if members would be moving there the North or South Stand was released as part of a mailer where it was explicitly stated that 1894 wanted to strengthen the South stand.

The truth is that if we ACTUALLY want to know how the majority of fans feel then the survey would need to be fairly administered by the club. They're probably not arsed enough

Your last comment is sadly looking more and more like the truth.

In answer to your points -

1. Prices - the rail seating in the North Stand will be less than the existng rail seating in the South Stand level 0. That is obvious.

2. Date for opening - it is a major, complicated, construction project. Subject to all the many checks and requirements being satisfied, the stand will open this season. There will be test events as always happens. Only the construction team and club will know when this is feasible.

Next season the stand will be fully operational.

3. More corporate - the club has lost the private boxes from the North Stand.
300 General Admission + (GA+) seats will be near the front of a huge tier of about 9,500 rail seating / general admission seats.

Please can you answer these questions as an 1894 "member" -

(a) I set out questions in my post above. Can you please answer all of them?

( b) why do any of the points 1 to 3 above affect the better chance to improve the atmosphere moving forward in 2026/27 season?

(c) what is going to change in SS0 that will improve the atmosphere?

4. Do you agree that, from an atmosphere perspective, having as many actual and potential singers as possible in the big CITY END has more chance of being better?

This is compared with the small South Stand level 0 which is split from SS3 and shared with away fans who sometimes dominate in the PL and usually dominate in cup matches.

A lot of us are seeking to understand the rationale of 1894, who they are, and the reasoning for their premature stance on this.
