Last Film You Saw

The Phoenician Scheme - those who are team Wes Anderson will try to rank it by its quirkiness percentage, the rest will just hate it!
Definitely better than Asteroid City, but The Grand Budapest Hotel was the peak.
Just tried watching it. I stuck it for 30 minutes. Absolutely dreadful. It makes Withnail and I look good.

We managed to entice the teen daughter out of her cave with the promise of her being allowed to choose the film.

90 mins later I’ve just sat through the film version of Baywatch with The Rock and Zac Effron!

Mmmmmmm….not great unsurprisingly!

Took the eldest to see the third avatar film yesterday. Three and a half hours long!

Anyway, neither of us were blown away. It's like the longest video game cutscene ever, they mess with their own lore at will, and when the sea creatures started taking with subtitles appearing there were a few groans around the cinema.

It's not a bad film, it's just not good.

Saw in the trailers Odyssey, which looks good, but everything else they showed was very much a "meh".

Watched Anaconda at Wigan omniplex yesterday. It was fun light-hearted entertainment.

Then watched Zulu. An incredible film.

Then Jaws. My all time favourite.

Marty Supreme.

Absolutely fantastic. Great to see a Josh Safdie film gaining so much wide attention. There were people in the cinema that have likely seen nothing by the Safdie brothers in their lives before this, and it’s a credit to how great the film is, and also the promo for it.

See it in the cinema, the soundtrack by Daniel Lopatin / Oneohtriix Point Never is ace and follows on from his amazing work on Uncut Gems. It’s like another character in the movie.

It’ll take something impressive to stop this one sweeping the Oscars.
