Whoever gets this job will be the twentieth Chelsea manager since our takeover around seventeen years ago. During that same period we have changed manager three times.

Genuinely absurd. Also amusing to think that even if they had landed Pep, if he put up the same first season as he did with us they would have sacked him anyway.

We should bring Palmer back home, ideal replacement for Bernardo next season. Would fit right in, no waiting around for 12 months and knows the system. It doesn't matter whats happened, the past is the past I just think he is an ideal fit for us.

Above is a link to a BBC article that talks about Liam Rosenior potentially taking over at Chelsea. Makes me feel old as I remember watching his dad play for West Ham and later for Gloucester City. There was a song called "Leroy's Boots" released in about 1990 but I cannot find any trace of it on that Internet.

The stat that jumped out from the article is that Tosin is Chelsea's oldest player at 28.

If Liam does get the job then good luck to him. He is currently managing Strasbourg who have the same owners.

Tosin is 28?

It doesn’t seem more than a couple of years since he was coming through the Academy.

Just listening to a podcast discussing the farce that is Chelsea, and the structure at the club. They said there's 5 sporting directors there. Seriously; 5? What the fuck do they need 5 for? We've only got the one, as far as I know.

If I was Rosenior, I'd steer well clear of that club. He's doing a very good job at Strasbourg, but has he got the experience to take on a job the size of Chelsea? Also, I believe there may well be a few Maresca loyalists in the dressing room. Has Rosenior got the standing within the game to earn their respect from day one? Here's one from out of the blue; what about a straight swap ("swap okay?); Maresca and Amorim?

" Nurse, my tablets. QUICKLY!!!!"

Amorim wouldn’t last a fortnight at Chelsea.

Maresca is better than Amorim, so we don’t want him at the swamp.

Just read somewhere that Maresca was basically being told who to play by a sporting director(s). No self respecting manager would put up with that. It's bad enough when the manager has little or no say in transfers. Why have a manager at all? Someone to cop the flak when things go tits up, perhaps?

Quite common in American sports apparently.

The whole structure at Chelsea is a mess, and the Americans want to prove that this model can work in Europe as it does in America.

I head an American say on a podcast that everything Boehly is doing is pretty much a carbon copy of how he runs his baseball team.

Someone needs to tell them that they are in England, not 'murica. And that they're in for a shock when they find out how "aluminium" is pronounced. Same with "route".

I 100% agree mate, but I give it 10 years before matches are played on foreign soil.

The only thing English about the PL is geography, everything else is multinational, and eventually within 20 years the PL will be a milti global game played everywhere.

The Etihad will probably be home to 15 games a season maximum.

I am enjoying it for what it is now mate, because eventually I will fall out of love for it.

Two things can be true at the same time. BlueCo can be terrible owners *and* Maresca be a bellend

He was happy with the set-up and T&Cs when he saw it as a step up from Leicester but 12 months later, he’s won a few second rate tournaments and now wants to renegotiate - which is fine but do it in private and not gob off in press conferences

He’s done a decent job but that’s about it. That said, what chance has he got with Sanchez in net, a load of shit centre backs and bang average wingers?

Is he a good manager, maybe/maybe not. Will he get a better job than Chelsea, unlikely in my view. More chance of him managing Seville or in Saudi than being some one like City’s next manager

Chelsea, (Unless something amazing happens) are only headed downwards as far as I can see with their venture capatilism approach to running a club. Feels like they will eat themselves from within. There will come a time when the best young players dont want to go to them, and the whole pyramid collapses... All whilst the PL play with themselves.
