The 27,000 surprises me. We were drinking with Scunny fans in the Northern quarter before the game. They were a messy lot.
Perhaps our core fans City have pissed off were having a day off-;)
 
Chelsea tomorrow
110 seats left at 10.30 spread across 52 blocks so mainly singles.
Cheapest seats £43 with membership in South Stand bottom tier and North Stand bottom tier.
Numbers available have increased significantly over the last couple of days with presumably late exchange listings.
The game is unsurprisngly a sell out.

I've followed this daily (often multiple times) since the circa 3 week before 2nd release of tickets which sold out quickly. My interest here to understand the pattern for a Cat A game.

Bottom line is that a matchday member could have easily bought a ticket for this game. Most days before Christmas a small number of tickets were coming available and selling out very quickly. Log in a little later none available or a handful again only. Rinse and repeat.

I was expecting to see blocks of seats coming up for sale (3rd party releases or held back for club groups etc) but I only saw this twice.

22Dec - East 302 and CB 323 - 80 seats total in blocks at back. All seats had gone 3 hours later.

29 Dec - released at about 11:30:
East 306 100+ seats in block at rows 26-28 at back
East 307 50+ seats in block rows 15-19
FS 035 50+ seats in block at rows 3-10 (This is low down in the Family Stand to the left of the goal in line with the side of the penalty area and a high profile area for the emptihad shit)

Again all seats had gone when I checked later.

Yesterday there were about 50 seats available and, as said earlier, 110 earlier.

I've waffled on here and this is TLDR territory :) There is reason behind the madness but that is for another day connected to ticket prices...

Don’t forget the killer arctic blast (otherwise known as winter). Newcastle away is a chance for those legions of fans who “can’t get away tickets.” But oh dear it looks like rain again.

We've known about this fixture for over 2 weeks now and it's taking them until 8 days before the game to get it on sale to Members. Absolute clueless twats in that ticket office.

Hopefully he can do a few more aways over the next few years, although generally impossible to get tickets for anything remotely local at a weekend, which is a shame for the younger ones who don't get the chance. Similar situation - my lad (18) is at Northumbria. Him and his brother (21) are both season ticket holders but never get a sniff for away games. They went Sundeland the other night, and them and a few of their mates have all snapped up tickets for the Newcastle game and planning on making a day of it.

A bit harsh that mate, as there aren't many travel options for the North East, and it's only two seasons since we took 4,000+ to Newcastle for a Carabao Cup match

This time we've just visited Sunderland (I got home at 1:45) and we've already played at Newcastle (plus you could argue that the Second Leg is more important)

I'll be there, but thankfully I'm retired and relatively affluent so I can afford the ticket and travel, and don't need to book time off work

However I refuse to criticise anyone who chooses otherwise

My 16 years old grandson went to a supermarket with me on route to the Etihad. I gave him a quid for the trolley and he couldn't get a trolley. And it wasn't to do with the trolley having a token stuck in it clueless.
Excellent at phones,tablets Internet but clueless at anything else.

I thought there'd be more take up too mate. For context though, there was a group of 7 of us who went to Newcaste in the league this season, it's only me bothering with this one. Based on this I rekon theres loads of our regular away following not going to this.

Ticket office should have got it to all Members on Friday and allowed people to buy up to 4, Monday will be way too late notice for some unfortunately

My criticism is aimed at those armchair fans who seem to love slagging the club and telling us how difficult it is to go to matches “because of the tourists.” I know you, like myself, are a regular. But the tickets for the Newcastle semi are dirt cheap. I am also retired but have lost count of the times I have shared a car after an early dart from work to the North East in mid winter. There are too many moaners on this forum these days(not you).

Oh Yeah, if those people actually exist then I'm in total agreement

However I've got no idea how many supporters blame the tourists for not getting a ticket and then look the other way when one becomes available

Perhaps a few on this Forum, but I'm not convinced that Bluemoon is a fair reflection of the new City demographic

Far more relevant is my own Supporters Club branch (one of the biggest) not running a coach to Newcastle, despite being so oversubscribed for the league game that it ran a coach and a minibus

It was the same for the trip to Swansea and (possibly for different reasons) it's starting to creep into the PL midweek away matches.

There were individual TEx coming back, I got one the morning of the West Ham game on 20th but they were showing sold out most of the time and you had to be quick.

I was waiting for a specific entrance and was looking on and off for about 5 days. Sometimes they are not available once selected too.
