Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

We fucked reading what pep said anout Dias Gvardiol are out for a time Ake can’t player every game he said! This is back to last season when we lost our centre backs! It’s all on the club stones ake are injury prone so we had Gvardiol and Dias who stay fit and pep trust!

I know we can recall Reis back from Girona but the way city do things they won’t do that they’ll go with what we have!

We looked absolutely gassed 2nd half. The injuries, players just coming back from injury and the 2 at AFCON is really biting us currently. I think if Dias stays on we probably hold on there. Cherki, Foden and Haaland will also be kicking themselves for choosing the wrong options and missing chances. Frustrating game.

I think we need to go into the market. The squad is down to the bare bones and is struggling with the volume of games.

I'm not buying this out of gas justifications for our recent performances. Our play in the build-up is slow. We invariably pass the ball from side to side as there is little movement from our players off the ball. Nor do we press like we used to. We no longer break with pace so where does the tiredness come from. Maybe mental but for me not physical.
It's when we lose the ball which we do quite often now, the other team breaks and we're using up lots of energy running back

I'm getting pigged off reading about Pep's poor game management. That draw was fully down to top players making the wrong decisions time after time. And also giving the ball away repeatedly.qhen under little pressure.

Yep pressure on have to win and fatigue because our squad is small

Only ourselves to blame really as that second half was pretty awful. Got dragged into their scrappy horrible game and we lost complete control we had in the first half.

Sadly Chelsea are a very very poor side and that is a poor two points dropped.
Yep, totally agree on all points !

Wasted opportunities for two games on the run. Not convinced we can have so many players in the team who can’t tackle. Goal was poor and there were opportunities to cut it out. Unlucky to lose both centre backs and I thought Ake was poor again for second game running when he came in. So many good opportunities messed up by bad decisions today.

That goal we had 6 players around the ball to break.

Cherki started juggling and chipped to Bernardo who couldn’t control it, gave it away and brought down their player. They get the free kick and score.

Disgraceful game management.

Cherki only had to pass it sideways to one of the other 3 options or down the line for Haaland to chase.

A fucking disgraceful pattern that absolutely fucked us.
We only needed one of Foden, Cherki, Haaland to show up against Sunderland and Chelsea and we would've won both games, just one of them, and all 3 decided to shit the bed, so frustrating.

Deep down, we never had any chance of winning the league this season, due to where we are in the rebuild process. I always felt at the time we started the rebuild that it was a 2-year job, minimum. We went into this season still with many players that need to leave and be adequately upgraded on before we can call the rebuild complete.

So with that in mind, I find Pep’s decision to spam the same players every single game baffling. It’s like he thought we could win the league if every single player stayed 100% fit, 100% of the time… but in what world was that ever a likely thing to happen? We should have been using the full extent of our squad, even whilst knowing that some of them are not at the level required, keeping the squad healthy and in a great spot to go full tilt next season after completing the rebuild.

But instead, by chasing an impossible dream, we have run numerous players into the ground to a point where it risks future seasons too. These things have knock on effects. I feel like we tried to run before we could walk. This was always a transition season in my eyes and should have been treated as one. In believing it wasn’t, we could end up further away from the top than if we’d rotated heavily from the start.

I’m not sure which is more hilarious.
Your review of the game or the fact that you ve marked the players out of ten like you’re a journalist of some description.

Brilliant .

Shit to draw like that; the cliche'd 'feels like a defeat'.

Olivar is a fucking snide ****, and did exactly what he'd been instructed, as he has done countless times before- Ignored obvious cards, disparity in applying the LoTG, playing advantage where non exists, blowing for a foul when we have an obvious advantage, pretending not to see when it suited, getting in the way of the passing lanes. One in particular such example stood out when Doku had the ball out wide and Cherki was in space on the edge of the box, nobody within 5 yds of him. Olivar dropped his shoulder and peddled into the gap like a striker playing off the last man. You could see the look of 'WTF?' on Doku's face as he did it.

PL sanctioned cheating in my opinion. They are manipulating the league, and it just seem to get harder to overcome their efforts with every passing season. I really do hope someone has the balls to call it out and brings the receipts.

Only Chelsea change half their squad each season.

With the amount we’ve already brought in, we won’t be able to afford 7 or 8 incomings anyway.

If you have 4 or 5 first teamers injured, there will always be a drop off. No squad can sustain that for long.

Matey, i have listed 5 or 6 players sitting doing nothing or offering anything to the squad

How was he missing ffs? He was feeding off scraps, still making great runs but Foden and Cherki couldn’t find him. Thought he played really well tonight. Criticize the right players if you going to give criticism.
Oh, and why was pep stubborn? what could he have done differently?

Taken bernardo off for a start he couldnt fucking run
