Not a fan of all this drums and capo stuff but that's me. On the other hand I'm not sure I can see City fans in general having or wanting that either.

Atmosphere and the atmosphere group

It was a great result and very good performance last night, JRB.

You have asked for answers and invited me to fire away. Here are suggestions -

1.1894 take a long pause and take time to re-assess their current stance. Give careful thought to what is the best opportunity for improving the atmosphere.

2. Then, positively lead and encourage its members, to improve atmosphere and create a big home end on ONE level, by re-locating to the North Stand.

3. Positively encourage those in South Stand lower (level 0), Kippax Corner, South Stand Upper (level 3) and fans from other parts of the stadium, to establish themselves in the North Stand.

4. Promote this as a great opportunity to re-invigorate the membership and uplift the atmosphere. Pull together in the same direction.

5. Act as a conduit through City Matters to achieve the above.

Naturally some fans will want to remain where they are are for a variety of reasons. Change does not come naturally to many. However change can be the best action ever for many more.

You also mentioned the questions that had been raised and facts presented which many fans agree with.

Fundamental questions to 1894 are -

1. how will the current stance to try and get a few more fans into South Stand lower (level ) make any real difference to the atmosphere?
2. how will the inherent split between the SS lower, middle, and upper levels and Kippax corner together with the associated detrimental impact on great atmosphere creation, ever be overcome?
3. how do you intend to overcome away fans normally dominating almost all cup games in City`s so called home end?

Prices
These will be announced by the club.
It is reasonable to work out that (1) the North Stand safe standing will be less than the South Stand lower (level 0) current prices; and (2) the North Stand safe standing will be no more than the current South Stand upper rear seats (rear level 3). Do you agree?

Displays / flags
There is scope for these still in the North Stand.

General Admission
9,200 approx. general admission / safe standing tickets is no more of mish mash than the current 3,000 safe standing in the SS lower ( level 0) whose profile is mixed.

Given the above and whilst waiting for further information from the club, why did someone think that it was good idea to adopt a premature position and produce questionnaire for a limited reach too early in the process?

No one gats it right all the time and that includes the club. However lets focus on what we can do as fans. I therefore go back to point 1 above and suggest that time is now taken to re-assess the current stance and give careful thought to what is the best opportunity for improving the atmosphere now and in the future.

I am not on here all the time only when someone from 1894 asks me to bob on and try and answer a question.

What can we say other than we are waiting for club to start the process, we are already ready to go with the club the Osc Citymatters (including the 18-25 rep) and as ever no one can say anything til we get detail from the club.

If the club would have put all the detail out there from day one then I suppose we wouldn’t have 2+ years of hypothetical conversations on here. We may have had a lot more enthusiasm from people in the south stand to consider moving.

Current “stance” comes form surveying people and speaking to people around us regularly.

We have told the club we are happy to help people move to the north stand should they want but we also want to be able to get people into spare seats for games when we can in south lower. People moving round the ground might make this happen.

We did this last week v Exeter moving 60 people into 015 and the atmosphere picked up ( in spite of a lot of other people in the block spending time talking and messing about on their phones)

Accept the democratic nature of the decisions that have we have made so far and also a reluctance to challenge the club on some of the obvious faults in the current vision for this end as it stands.

That doesn’t mean we don’t take note or think about differing views.

Dante here coming in peace ! Actually, you did show an interest in moving to 115 you asked for the front of the block and confirmed your email address (recruitment agency) and all the supporters numbers / yours ending 13.

In those days the club were offering full season tickets too whereas now it will be no season tickets just a mix of matchday sales and flexis. So you would have got all season tickets together in that new area.

Hope you're well Dante. I was indeed a member of 1894 back then, and if you remember we used to talk on the phone sometimes. I used to contribute money too. I might have considered moving back then but not seriously as my sons were 7 and my dad became disabled and I certainly would never move anywhere near the front of the lower tier.

Not that this has any relevance to this discussion. As you well know I've been vocally supporting City home and away for 50 years which more than qualifies me to express opinions on the atmosphere in the ground. And as I say, I think a concentrated push by the club to encourage relocations to the north stand is the only way to halt the steady decline in atmosphere and I will look to move there if the club don't put stupid barriers in the way.

Some lower league clubs have done the same for 20 years with their fake "ultra" groups, but I don't think any pretend to be the mafia with Capos.

Palace only have a handful of fans in that group, it is a very small section of the stand. It gives people something to do who don't like watching football, a bit like flavoured craft beer for people who don't like beer but want to be seen drinking it.

The Kippax, with the tunnel running outside the stand named Kippax st North,totally understand people wanting to leave that where it was, but for me it’s heritage and we need to take that along with us, as well as evoke some of its spirit. Special mentions for Sergio & Pep. Failing that, They could call it the Bell end or The ‘Moss’ Side for me, I’m not that bothered once they’ve looked past the Kippax. Be awkward if they related it to 1894 & then made it a touristy stand.

2. Blue Moon, but we really have to get rid of that awful sped up shite, get a singer in, a gospel choir, a brass band, anything but what we have now, I do like boys in blue though, again part of our history & sung before Blue moon I think ?

3. Can understand some wanting to try something different, but a capo or a drum or a trumpet etc would just do peoples head in, and I wouldn’t personally want to be near it. But we can be more organised without having to go down that road or become cringey. Maybe a collaboration page on here and socials is the way forward, list of songs with words, suggestions, videos, links, old and new.

4. Don’t mind the PA, can see why some hate it or find it tinpot/cringey, but he’s hit the right note a few times, especially after big wins, I say that as someone who doesn’t mind the light shows (when done way before kick off)

5. No need for a name unless something comes up organically in the next few years, same with the stand, don’t want a ‘blue wall’ or ‘Wonderwall’

6. Don’t think you’d narrow things down for a poll, far to many differing opinions

I think it depends on the game. Last season against Bournemouth - KDBs last game is the loudest I’ve heard south stand level 1 in a long time. So they can make noise, it’s just not consistent anymore and it seems to be split up between the block next to the away fans and a block near the corner flag

I’m hoping not being near the away fans means more classic city chants come back and the rest of the ground join in. Even bluemoon is lacklustre now

They are called the Ashburton Army, they been inspired by the Holmesdale Fantics, which is the Crystal Palace Supporters Section

Arsenal Emirates Stadium used to be called the library because it rubbish atmosphere, but over the last couple of years, the club and its fans have tried to change there atmposhere at their ground by introducing the Ashburton Army and trying to introduce an anthem to the ground "North London Forever" which there answer to YNWA




City could do the same, but we seem to be going in the opposite direction

Cockneys have got no style or originality and have a bloody awful accent that sounds shit in songs with words, that’s why they’re happy to dress like Ricky Gervais at a game and copy the Euro Ultras stuff.

North London Forever is terrible.

2. Bluemoon - but have a choir set up to sing it just before kick off getting crowd to join in all the way through (every game from from this day forward, must be in the crowd), nothing else, no team reading.
