No. I said i didn't hear about links in the summer. As in summer of 2025 when he was dead set to join Liverpool. Dont pretend you thought I meant next summer. Lol

Its a transfer forum and i am presenting my opinion on what I think wil be the best move. You disagree. Cool! Neither has anything to do with information we already have. We are both using that. You just are reaching a different conclusion

Im opining. Not ITKing.

You were replying to my post, where I stated there were summer links predating the injuries and replying to that. So yes, you were mistaken and believed I was talking about last summer and have been corrected - pretending anything else is just ridiculous, but par for the course. Again, I'm stating what the club are reportedly doing - not what I think they should do. I'll leave it at that.

So there were no summer links from last summer. So even if i misread your statement. My question clearly was talking about links to last summer. You could have simply said you didn't mean last summer.

And i am opinning on what i think the club should do. That too is clearly obvious.

Surely Palace will be pushing for him to go this transfer window so they can pick up some pennies?
The idea has been put forward that if they keep him and win the Europa wooden spoon thingy, then they will just about make up the money. More chance of a better PL finish, too.

I wonder if this doesn’t happen in January we see us go back in the summer.

Dias, Ake, Khusnaov, Alleyne isn’t bad if we can’t get a good player in. After all it would be Guehi (or another) in for Ake.

We might struggle to get anyone at our level in Jan and might prefer to wait to get the right player.

Good enough to be our starter, no. Good enough as an emergency backup? Absolutely.

Hand on heart, did you think a loanie at Watford would be good enough to start for us against Newcastle? I didn't last month. Yet, here we are.
Alleyne has grown up in our system, has trained with the first team on multiple occasions and has long been one of the most highly rated young players in his position in the country, so less of a risk than you might think
When was the last time City took a player on loan for the first team? Pizarro in 2012 maybe? It’s not how we operate

We’re going to have a huge issue with home grown players soon. Walker and Grealish have left and I expect Trafford, Stones, Bobb and Ake to leave in the summer.

When you see figures like £80+ million banded about for the likes of Wharton and Anderson and £60+ million for Livramento, it’s a no brainer to try and sign him.

Seems there’s zero chance this happens. The only thing that would make me think otherwise is if damien10 shows up and tells us he’s snubbed us for Liverpool in the summer.

Ppl
The point im making is an error could happen to anyone. I remember peak Kompany making one of the worst errors ever for a goal. Doesn't making any less peak.

That said, CL Q finals are in April. About 11 weeks away. Id hope Dias is fully back bu then and our loanie relegated to backup duties
i understand your point but come on you know as well as I do Guehi is less likely to make a mistake than Alleyne
In fact your post at 3:53 virtually agrees with me and my point of view

Won’t have any great issue with homegrown, if we buy Anderson or Wharton that will be 3 of the 4 places taken then with all our club trained an U 21s now around the first team squad now Foden, O’Reilly, Lewis, Trafford, Alleyne,Mukasa , McAidoo if we ended up going with just 3 Association trained we’d be fine.

I could see us backing out of the market for a CB entirely if we don’t get Guehi now. Ride out this current injury crisis with Khusanov, Alleyne and Ake then add Dias in for the rest of the season when he’s fit again. Next season on we go with Dias, Gvardiol, Khusanov, Alleyne and Reis/Bah. Great set of CBs, but he potential issue is where we fill in English/homegrown players.

We’re never going to have “huge issues” with homegrown players because Pep only ever wants a squad of 21/22 players. That’s after increasing it this year, before he said he wanted about 20.

Between Bettinelli (or the next HG third choice keeper off the rank), Rico, Nico, Foden, Alleyne and Semenyo that lets us have a squad of 23.

We’ll probably want to add one more when Stones, Ake, Trafford leave but there is no looming disaster.

We’ve had more HG players than there are slots for them in recent years, particularly in UEFA comps.

I know one shouldn't care what the rivals are up to, but if Marc goes to Arsenal, I could see them reach several 85+ point seasons in the upcoming years with Gabriel, Saliba, Guehi as centreback options. It wouldn't be great. I'd rather he went to Liverpool or abroad if he's not joining us.
