It’s worth remembering that he’s only 20 years old. At that age, very few centre backs are the finished article physically. What he’s shown at Girona is why people are excited. He reads the game well, positions himself intelligently, doesn’t panic under pressure and he's very good on the ball. He's also shown mental resilience and leadership in that defence at such a young age. He’s held his own in a league that still tests defenders tactically and technically, and he’s done it in a side that asks a lot of its centre backs.
Physicality can be built. Strength, timing, aggression at set pieces all come with age and coaching. What’s harder to teach is composure, awareness, and the ability to play in a structured system. Reis already has those skills. Can't write him off because he's 20 years old. All those scouts who had glowing reports about him can't be wrong.
You joined yesterday, yet this place hasn't changed much. For stating my opinion? This place haven’t changed much.
Marc?I know one shouldn't care what the rivals are up to, but if Marc goes to Arsenal, I could see them reach several 85+ point seasons in the upcoming years with Gabriel, Saliba, Guehi as centreback options. It wouldn't be great. I'd rather he went to Liverpool or abroad if he's not joining us.
Because it would give Palace, who he does seem to give a shit about to be fair to him, a fee. Is he going to do that at his own earning detriment? Probably not, hence our negotiations to compensate him as well. I don’t blame him for that, he’s thinking of the generational wealth he’s securing for his family and future family.I know his contract is up at the end of the season and wonder why he would make a decision on his future now instead of just cashing in himself in closed season?
"Us"? seems a more pertinent question.Marc?

The idea has been put forward that if they keep him and win the Europa wooden spoon thingy, then they will just about make up the money. More chance of a better PL finish, too.

Clubs will want to front load money on signing on fees now wages are a major part of PSR.-His weekly earnings would significantly increase now instead of from July 1 (worth a few mil).
-Gets to compete for trophies now and experience the Champions League leading into the World Cup
Haaland doesn't show up against the rags does he not?My rationale was he generally shows up vs. them lot. Sue me.
And - "You"?
They taught proofreading early doors in school.
Either brush up or keep up, your choice.
Spot onAt some point it’s simple - shit or get off the pot.
We shouldn’t be begging anyone to play for us. This is Manchester City - the treble winners, Centurions, Fourmidables, Four in a Row. No other club in this country can say that.
The ambition is proven. The domination is recent and relentless. The structure, the leadership, the football - elite. If that isn’t enough to make a player desperate to wear the shirt, then they’re not the right fit anyway.
City don’t need convincing projects or hesitant passengers. We need players who are jumping at the chance, who understand what this club represents and want to be part of its next chapter.
If Guehi isn’t convinced, then fine, that’s his choice. But let’s be clear, it’s his loss and not ours.
As they say, plenty more fish in the sea.
He’s been eulogising about the dippers in the will we win the league thread. He's been watching photos of him (his words), although he's now all in...
He reeks to high heaven that one.
