United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Think Carrick probably deserves some credit for his line up and tactics. They worked. Maguire coming back in steadied their back line.

Doesn’t excuse our woeful performance though. One of the worst of Pep’s tenure that for me.

100% re Pep, one of, if not the, worst games he’s managed. I know we had issues in the squad but he’s got to do better

Carrick played like any mid-table manager. Keep it tight, keep it simply, boot it forward and give City the problem I.e get the ball in our half and take it from there

Whereas we didn’t give them any problems, in fact we did the opposite. We encouraged them, we gave them confidence

Really bad

Can everyone calm down a bit please...

OK we lost a derby...
We had a poor day at the office with a team decimated by injuries.

An absolute stinker of a VAR/Ref decision should have reduced them to 10 men after 15 minutes.

We are 2nd in the league...

Utd get a bit of new manager bounce probably after a kick up the arse in training.

A broken clock is right twice a day and they are the same.

Get a fucking grip everyone...

Haaland and Foden the worst for being intimidated into nothingness, and Semenyo dropped an OT Raz derby performance. Yet he terrorized them when playing for Bournemouth
I fear Semenyo won't get half the joy playing for us than he did for Bournemouth. He will soon have to revert to how Jack played for us, run at the full back, stop and pass back

Can already see it from today. Yes a total different side to his last 2 games. But today he never faced his man up and tried to beat him. Chose the safe pass backwards or inside more often than not.

His flair and dribbling skill will be coached out of him.

At the end of the season we will see a totally different Semenyo to the one we signed.

Bluemoon includes City fans, rags and trolls. The rags and trolls are in their element at the moment.

I haven’t read much so not sure what you mean about ‘calm down’

I think I’m pretty calm just frustrated and angry, in a calm measure

I can’t bellyache about Dalot not being sent off. We should be good enough to beat 13 of their players, never mind 11

The manager had a bad day. Haaland was terrible, Cherki was a joke and Ake didn’t step up

But, Arsenal drew so not the end of the world.

I don’t know what happened today, we seemingly were prepared, for whatever reason

But, we can win the Champions League. Get the big boys back in defence, get Rodders fit(he clearly wasn’t today) and get Semenyo banging them in

Onwards and upwards

You're dreaming mate. Any City fan who is prepared to excuse that abject performance is in denial.

It's long past time for a change.

No excuses. This was all on Pep Guardiola. Embarrassed by the worst rag side for over 50 years. Tactically, an absolute disgrace.

Unacceptable at any level. Time for change
Wondered when you were going to wake up and give us your hyperbole.

Yep. I often wonder why any winger would want to come and play under Pep.

Can’t be a surprise to anybody today. That defence will get found out against all decent teams.

There are no leaders anywhere on the pitch. Far too slow, lethargic, timid, and Foden and Haaland miles off it for weeks

We missed Dias today big time. He would never have accepted our lack of fight. If it wasn’t for Donna’s brilliance and utd kept getting offside we could have been humiliated, worse than the 6-1.

Hyperbole? Did you not watch that shite performance that Pep orchestrated?

It's happening too often, and people are still naking excuses. The rags are a dreadful side, and today we were even worse. If you're OK with that, I can only assume that you're a total sycophant, or wrong in the head.

Disagree with all that, why should people get a grip? Yes red card but they probably would have beaten us with 10 men, and the injuries that is football, Pep wanted a small squad and got it, so again we have no players to cover injuries and again that is on him and his small squad policy

If villa win tomorrow they could be 4 points off arsenal all about pressure and building it,rags could draw with arsenal next week we beat wolves and we are 5 behind villa win and they’d be 2 behind league isn’t done yet if we can hang in there pressure does strange things.. All of this is of course bollocks if none of the above happens..

Sorry mate it's not happening. Hard to believe only four games ago we were two points behind Arsenal. Three points from twelve now has us seven points behind. We've had awful luck with injuries once again. What other team loses not one but their two first choice center halves, one for possibly the rest of the season? Also our holding midfield player with the other one trying to come back from almost two years out of action. Add to which it sounds like something serious is happening to our only right back in the club and we're fucked. Rico isn't anywhere near the level we need. Other player's form has also fallen off a cliff. Guehi might make a difference but we desperately need bodies back and our fit players to find some form. We've also got to go to Spurs and Liverpool, two grounds we rarely get anything from. Leeds away will also be extremely tough. Arsenal will probably still win it but if Villa keep everyone fit and hold their nerve they have a chance. Us? Im ruling us out after today. Obviously id love nothing better than being proved wrong.

Thankfully the guy next to me left early.
He talked all the bloody time and came out with lots of nonsense.
One quote is that it was his 97th derby and he’s hoping to get to 100.
Had any one got any facts for this ?
I’ve been to lots ( yet nether counted) cos I’ve got a life outside of city .
I’ve been season ticket for 52 years, I would say he was in his early 60’s, was he just talking crap ?
If he’s early 60s I’d suggest he’s talking crap.

Shows no fear with swashbuckling attacking performances at Anfield and OT, then signs for us and becomes a safe sideways/backwards pass merchant
