No doubt the excuse this time was they were a bit cold.

Exactly and said so at the time could come back to haunt us especially after the robbery in Monaco The strange thing is it was so out of character as well

And that's the concerning thing, the total lack of effort. It's a collective shambles at present including Pep
 
Ah well. Let's see how we get on once we have a few off the injury table. Still should be beating teams like this while carrying injuries.

I was very keen on Rice when he became available and we should have thrown the kitchen sink albeit London factor might have persuaded him otherwise and he would have been a great foil for Rodri but it wasn't to be.

Hopefully Rodri will regain confidence and form but we obviously need a replacement if he returns to Spain and players especially at his age rarely comeback to past performance levels at his age with such an injury.

We haven't recruited well over the past 18 months to 2 years and it will interesting how many of them will be in our next title winning side or Chumps League winning side because the present squad even fully fit are not nearly up to the standard required even when Haaland and Foden are firing which they haven't been of late especially Foden.

Haven’t recruited well? Most of the signings have been good. This month has been very good.

Some players like KDB are irreplaceable.

Pep is to blame, just as the players are. There's a collective issue. Some of our tactics over the past two games have been baffling, not to mention being completely overrun in both games but doing nothing in terms of game management to do something about it.

Playing your left footed left back essentially as a right winger? Where did that come from?

We continue to persist with outside the box sideways passing despite having a 6ft 5in striker stood in the box waiting for someone to give him the ball.

Yes we've got a young and inexperienced defence, yet the team in front of them is set up to offer them no protection whatsoever.

Let's not blame the defeat on the fact we were playing on a plastic pitch we aren't used to, but the opposition were. They had 3 CL points before tonight. They had never won a CL game before. We SHOULD be sweeping teams like that aside but as it played out, they swept us aside and fully deserved their win because they worked ten times harder than us - just like our opponents did a few days ago.

I get that mate, and commend your positivity. However, what is happening now is like a car crash in slow motion. Carry on playing like this, and slowly but surely each one of those opportunities for silverware will vanish one by one until nothing is left. We can all see it coming except (seemingly) Pep which is crazy. All he needs to do is tweak the tactics and things would change relatively quickly. Don't play so high, don't try to pass through teams, use the pace we have, use the striker we have, look to counter attack. It goes against Pep's ethos, but it's better than him dying on his own sword

at the same time, there was still enough quality on the pitch to win the game with tactics that would have suited them. He’s a world class coach, one of the best of all time so I don’t think it’s unreasonable for us to expect him to be agile with tactics and formation to win the game with the players at his disposal. It wasn’t working from the start yesterday or against United, we could all see it but he doesn’t change it and for me that’s extremely worrying. No way do I want him gone but he needs to sort it out fast

At least pub teams challenge the opposing players for the ball. We're just letting the other side waltz past us at present unchecked. That is really bad and is the main reason we're conceding. It's one of the basic requirements of ALL the players in any team. Hardly anyone is doing it in ours, it's shocking.

Where is John Stone? Must be some injury to keep him out this long while we are in desperation mode.throwing young players to the wolves in his position. Fyi he looked fine bouncing around at the trampoline park in Cheadle on Sunday, fucking joker.
 
Same as last season, no improvement doing the same thing every week and expecting a different result. Walking crab football played by players who are unfit and can’t run.

He will be waiting for the next England game, always seems to recover and be fit for those.

Remember that Amazon documentary when Pep was screaming at the players on the training pitch "if your tired, fuck you, fuck tired" or words to that effect.
I wonder if he is still screams the same at them.
