Tough game this one. Wolves recently got beat away by Arsenal by a last minute winner. They have drew away at Old Trafford and held Newcastle (above us in the CL) to a draw. They now have quick breaking, hard working players. Almost certainly they will use the United, Bodo tactics and we need to up the tempo and speed of ball movement so that we do not just play in front of an eleven man defence.

I dont think anything was ignored - but we were unable to put it right I put it down to 2 things:

1. Complete disruption of our build from the back: a LOT of our offence (when successful) is tied to our ball playing back line or our CDM being able to find midfielders and attackers in space. That to me was a much bigger drop off from Gvardiol/Dias to Khusanov/Alleyne than their defensive quality (Alleyne's 2 mistakes nothwithstanding). And Rodri having a poor game exacerbated things. It is often said we are a system rather than a collection of players.Well I think these issues disrupted our system more than we probably expected (especially after Newcastle).

2. Inexplicable Lack of Energy: I can't explain this one and neither can Pep. We had 3 clear days between the Newcastle game and the derby and it's not as if SJP is the other side of the universe.
Still no reference to the conscious decision to maintain the high line, then... :-)

Your 2nd point makes it even more inconceivable.

Hoping that Gonzalez is fit so Rodri can rest. I appreciate we have injuries and it’s a credit to him that he wants to help, but it’s obvious that he’s not up to it yet. In an ideal world he would be eased back.
I also hope that Ake is fit too and Alleyne can sit out. He may have a future with us but it’s too much for him right now.
More important Gonza is fit for midweek now Rodders is suspended.

Reactionism? Chasing Arsenal down? We’re behind but we’re not chasing anything, we haven’t won a league game in the last 4 and the performances are getting worse, the last two arguably worse than anything witnessed last year. I would also love to know who the terrifying front 3 were! I also don’t think anybody thought Rodri was back to his best.

I’m definitely not Pep out, the reality is we have spent a large amount of money, we have just been played off the park by some Norwegian outfit that haven’t played a competitive game in 2 months. Create nothing, controlling nothing and defending nothing and all that after getting mullered by that lot, both teams should have scored atleast 5. I have never felt embarrassed for a player but last night I felt embarrassed for them all.
A Sainly contribution but unfortuneately all true. Pep get a fuckin grip Man!!!

Still incredibly angry about the performances of the last week. I can almost take the derby result just because it's a derby, but Tuesday was total head loss, and can't-be-arsed-itus

I'm not even thinking about the league or points anymore, can't trust the team that far yet. Just a good performance, energy, wanting to win and right as few wrongs.

Guehi and Semenyo being available helps a lot. Pep needs to take a serious look at Haaland and figure out if it's tactics, tiredness or something else.

Wouldn't be opposed to McAidoo starting either, but I don't think we'll see that. I think we will possibly even see a back four of Khusanov, Guehi, Ake and Ait Nouri if Gonzales isn't fit, with Nico in the middle alongside Bernie. Then a front four of whoever most looks like they fancy taking a shot some time this century.

He's on track for player of the season mate, not sure what matches you have been watching or even what better RB alternative you think we have in the squad currently??

Maybe that is the exact reason why we are not going to win anything for the second consecutive season. Not to put the blame on Nunes, as he has done well for himself, but getting above average players creates an above average team.

Two consecutive home draws in the league and there are those on here that think every thing will magically improve on Saturday.

I hope they are right but I am not optimistic.

22nd & 25th November we got beaten playing badly by Newcastle and Leverkusen.

You wouldn't have expected everything to magically improve but went on to beat Leeds, Fulham, Sunderland, Madrid, Palace, Brentford, West Ham and Forest on the bounce.

We don't have to be amazing on Saturday, or by mid February, we just need to win, move on to the next game, win. After a fortnight you turn around and we're on a 5 match winning streak and everyone's feeling good again.

A must-win and ideally a strong performance with a clean sheet and Wolves hardly threatening

I keep reading about resting Rodri, but we need to try him alongside Gonzalez and see whether it makes us harder to counter, either by enjoying more possession or reducing the amount of times that we lose the ball with everyone out of position

Just keep Lewis and Nunes out of the side... you're better off starting with nine.
"Theres none so blind as them that won't see".Thats what it says on your bio Joe. I think you might be a tad short sighted on Nunes. For me he's been our most consistent player this season. We've missed him the last few games. I'm not saying he's the answer long term because we do need a top class RB, but at the moment we need him there.

Just play blooming football. Let as many as possible play in their best positions and stop fiddling about with them.
PLAY FOOTBALL KICK THE BALL FOLLOW IT AND GET BY THE OPPONENTS TO SCORE A GOAL.
The goal is that structure at one end of the pitch with two upright poles and one above connecting them. It has a kind of fishing net to catch the ball!! That’s how you score a goal. PLAY FOOTBALL.

It ain’t rocket science it’s just kicking an inflated ball for goodness sake!!!!!
JMHO :-)
