22nd & 25th November we got beaten playing badly by Newcastle and Leverkusen.

You wouldn't have expected everything to magically improve but went on to beat Leeds, Fulham, Sunderland, Madrid, Palace, Brentford, West Ham and Forest on the bounce.

We don't have to be amazing on Saturday, or by mid February, we just need to win, move on to the next game, win. After a fortnight you turn around and we're on a 5 match winning streak and everyone's feeling good again.
Well if so we will have beaten the dippers at their gaff and that will certainly cheer us all up ohh and another cup final to look forward to. Happy Days.

A must-win and ideally a strong performance with a clean sheet and Wolves hardly threatening

I keep reading about resting Rodri, but we need to try him alongside Gonzalez and see whether it makes us harder to counter, either by enjoying more possession or reducing the amount of times that we lose the ball with everyone out of position
A good option. I would also like to see O'Reilly in midfield too. To allow O'Reilly to play in midfield though we need a left back and Gvardiol is injured and Ait-Nouri doesn't have many games yet. We might have to wait.

I really liked O'Reilly's game in Bodo after Rodri was sent off. O'Reilly tried everything but the team was really up against it. City lost but O'Reilly went down fighting.

In my opinion, NOR is one of the most promising players in the Premier League at this moment.

Is Stones a waste of a squad place given that he's never fit for us but always plays for England?
Has been for a while. The lad is broken biscuits. I can't remember the last time we saw him start a few games on the bounce. Huge loss when you look back at his best, but at present he's doing God only knows what.

Jus dont want to see Reijnders or Rico anywhere near the pitch......

Get Guehi in and alongside Khusonov, hopefully get Nunes at right back.....NOR or RAN at left back (Id personally go with NOR even though he has been poor of late)

If we get really lucky Nico G could be back as well and if he can start can him in midfield alongside Rodri. Semenyo and Doku outwide (give them license to switch sides ). If Nico G aint fit put Bernardo central...at least he has a bit of bite and fire about him.

For a while? Has been forever I think. We’ve barely had a solid season out of him. Have we had any? He’s made of glass.

He certainly is. Can't wait to watch his career progress wether that be at LB or in the middle.

Out of 402 Premier League matches Stones has missed 191 of them. That's just Prem since he joined. Atrocious lol

Such a shame. What a player when fit.

Actually, had a quick look at the European treble season, since he's thought of as playing a major part (and he did) . I admit I was surprised. Even there, according to Transfermarkt stats he missed a big chunk of the season as far as the PL was concerned (either out injured, or on the bench and not thought fit enough by Pep to be brought on), and played virtually no part in our FA Cup run (apart from the final where, well, he did his job, no more, no less).
What he did play a big part in was the CL, particularly from the knockout stage onwards. (Missed a fair bit of the group matches — injury — but we were well able to manage without him). That's what everybody noticed. And yes, give him his due, he was superb.
If he had been fully fit, or even close to it since he joined, he would have been probably the most cultured centre-half in PL history. It really is a terrible shame.
He's out of contract in the summer.

O'Reilly was one of our better performers in Bodo, but is also too casual and comically one footed and his defensive weaknesses were exposed and exploited by Diallo last week

If anything he looks faster over 50 yards when charging down the wing, than 5 yards when trying to block a cross

He definitely needs a run in midfield with Ait-Nouri behind him, but if we don't trial it against Wolves then we never will.

We also need to stop the transitions at source, especially as Forest equalised with a rapid counter attack, that we couldn't even attribute to the absence of Nunes Dias and Gvardiol, as they were all playing

No, some of these problems occur because we've currently got too many similar midfielders who lose the ball in silly positions and don't do enough when the opposition have the ball

Hence the need for Rodri to play alongside Gonzalez

This bizarrely is now a massive game for us and I would normally say just fuckin win but this game needs winning with a very good performance from many of our players.
Yes it is a massive game for us, but that's gonna be the case with every game from now on.
Arse and Scousers had narrow 1 goal wins against them before they turned their little corner.
Any win'll do. 1 - 0 wins till the end of the season will have to do. Hopefully, Haaland might get one of the goals........ someday!
