I hark back to the Sane, Sterling, FFS, etc days of the Pep teams, when as you say, City used to rip teams apart with free flowing and attacking football that got fans excited.

Can anyone remember or pinpoint when or Pep decided to bring the current style of play into the team?

He's always prioritised possession until everybody was in the right position to pounce. The problem is that it was a highly complex system and we haven't had players of the required quality for a few years.
KDB, Spanish Dave, Sergio and a couple of wingers would terrify any opposition.
You mention three wingers, all of who are better than any currently at the club. Doku has a good game every month and fans think that's enough. We need players to have good games 90% of the time to get back to where we were.

Maybe daft of me, but I'm quietly confident that the atmosphere will be decent tomorrow. We've always been better when our backs are against the wall.

We are now a fan base that expects the players to give us something to chear for before we make any noise rather than inspiring them to want to play for us, as evidenced by the constant excuse of "sideways football" being a contributor to our ever worsening atmosphere.

Yeah agree. That was the worst atmosphere I've experienced today. The singing sections are poorly coordinated and then half the fans leave early which shows no appreciation to the players. The amount that leave early does me nut. Add to that a distinct lack of young fans knocking about and it's a perfect storm for a bad atmosphere. The Clun could help with a better strategy for fan engagement.

Is there a singing section anymore? South stand behind the goal start to disappear after 35 mins and then 80 mins. As for the pricks waving their phones about, whichever school trip that is needs banning for life. Put your phones away and watch the fucking match.

Turned over to Bournemouth v dippers its like a library. Not sure if any dippers fans are in the ground

I said this on the seat counters thread m8,,the football for the most part has been as you say turgid for the best part of 2 years ,its boring ,you can be having a chat to yer m8,,city could be around the centre circle look back 5 mins later and its back with our keeper ,it has gone dull very dull

If you go in the Ultra end you are expected to sing and you sing.

We’re talking 1000’s of fans, not 10”s or 100’s of fans in one home end or away end.

Can’t be arsed with that type of atmosphere myself. Same shite no matter what score or what’s riding on the game. Our atmosphere was shite today but give me the English atmosphere that reflects what’s going on on the pitch

Theres nothing worse than a shit English atmosphere but there’s nothing better than a top English atmosphere.
