Wolves (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Why does there have to be a negative slant to every city result, why cant it be city steadied the ship after a poor week and if semenyos shot had gone in and we got the penalty it could have been 4 0, why does every ex player and press wanker have to put a negative slant on things?
They probably read this forum to get their negativity.

All I will say is what a difference it makes for a defender to pick his head up, confidently, and pass. First half for Guehi was impressive as a debut.

None of dilly dallying around, standing on the ball looking to draw out forwards and inviting pressure. No! Look up, bang, deliver it!

That's what I want.

Just afraid the system we play will seep into his game rather than the other way around!!
He's a player who thinks it through. Smart and gives others confidence. Very good debut

Wolves few times I’ve watched them do cause problems Arsenal as well found it hard! They work hard brave win fouls over aggressive now that’s made the premier even up even more now with this directive from the red cunts who seem to won’t to change how var works use a different company to run Auto offsides! The premier is being run to Manipulate games and now we ain’t as good as we were while in this transition we finding it a lot harder!

Oh be nice to have a decent referee occasionally

One of our old players, Mark Kennedy, who was at the Etihad said that City were poor today, and if we'd played a top six side , we'd have lost ... and although i saw a few things I liked, I kinda agree with his assessment.

And if my auntie had bollocks, she'd be my uncle. It was obvious to anyone with eyes we had gears we could shift into. Happy with it :)

1. 3 points is the most important.
2. Glad Pep had the balls to leave Haaland out.
3. Dont think Haaland touched the ball when he came on.
4. We are playing at a snails pace. It's very frustrating. I guess lack of quality to make things happen.
5. 2 outstanding goals.
6. Rodri remains fit.
7. Atmosphere was dire.
8. Wolves are cloggers. Hope they go down.
9. Handball all day long. Criminal decision.
10. If Arsenal dont win the PL this year they never will :)

Agreed - a bit of subtlety at corners wouldn't hurt, though...
Had to laugh at him at a Wolves corner in the 2nd half....he wasn't even looking at the player taking the corner or watching the ball, he was only intent on protecting the goal line and vigourously shoving at least two Wolves players away from it, lol !

Reckon we’ve played better than that in games we’ve not won this season. But 2-0 and 3 points so another few points closer to qualifying for next season’s CL.

A comfortable win.
We started well, with Marmoush and Cherki looking threatening, and Wolves in the utterly irritating pattern of every man behind the ball, with the commentary team lauding any hint of possession rather than actually calling out their non-football.
The defence looked solid, with O'Reilly and Guehi developing a grasp of each other's game.
Semenyo was my MOM - he is a real danger because he appears to need so few opportunities to score.
When Marmoush seemed to tire, we were less threatening, and the Wolves subs, and their need to get back into it, saw them have a little more possession, but we were never in danger in what was, for me, a rather stagnant second half.
The penalty decision could have gone either way but I don't think there will be many City fans who would find it surprising that it wasn't given.
We need to watch the targeting of Doku and make a bit of a fuss in the media about it - VERY bad challenges in the last couple of games could easily have resulted in long-term injury.
The raking of Doku's achilles merited a sending off . I'm amazed he didn't get injured.

Results Results Results That's all that matters
Forget the ifs and buts, the 2.0 win is what we needed and its a base to build from

Far too much is made of the style and performances, but sorry its the 3 points that make the headline
I do feel a bit of good luck or a big result City can build from and it works wonders, Winning is the best medication and the feeling is like nothing else going into another big game in midweek

Michael Brown on Commentary was afraid Bernardo would do too much pushing and give away a penalty but Bernardo knows what he's doing when you see what Arsenal get up to .

Last bit not going to happen anytime soon.

We are usually good in the warmer months, it’s been the case for years now, picking up results when we’re not at it during the colder months is what it’s all about.

Managed game when they have big one Wednesday and then three big ones the following week.

Lot will be determined. Can somehow get through Spurs and Liverpool and the schedule opens up much better. Arsenal will continue to drop points.
