Echo chamber by design. The algorithm is set to play to the crowd. It invites opposing comments, and then doesn't show them, creating more outrage.

From what I've seen youtube comments are probably a more reliable indicator now musk has run twitter in the ground, suppressing some accounts and boosting others. And thousands of bots

Fox News is nonsense and more right wing Americans seem to be getting their news elsewhere, tucker carlson being one source and he seems to have called the previous ice shooting out
