Trent Alexander-Arnold

It is crazy how people just ignore the obvious deficiencies and clear problems he'd cause.

Rico Lewis is a better defender than him and we all saw his defensive contribution in the derby. We've all spent the last 18 months bemoaning our defensive fragility and wanting it tightened up, yet some are now wanting this ti happen which would result in the exact opposite.
Makes no sense.

TAA worked at the dippers because he had half a team built around him, the entire midfield was built around facilitating him. we dont have the players nor would we ever have a midfield of 3 cathorses to cover the fullbacks and that is the only way he can be a success.

If you're sticking TAA in this city squad, you need 3 new midfielders, which then means you don't get to play a foden or cherki in the 10 role and you also need yet more new defenders, probably 2, this time ones with pace to replace that lost from Nunes and then more pace on top to help provide the cover that would be required from having a right back that won't defend. Not even close to being good enough to be worth doing all that to make it work.

Pep could sort out his defending, plus he’d be a good attacking option.

He’s far, far better than Lewis. However I honestly think Nunes is doing a great job on the right now, I wouldn’t like to see him dropped. I don’t think TAA is any better, but he’d certainly strengthen the squad as there wouldn’t be this huge drop in quality if Nunes was unavailable like we currently have.

The reason people call him Trent is because nobody can be bothered to repeat a 6 syllable surname 100 times a match. The reason people hate it is because it makes commentators sound pally with him - they're actually just lazy.

You could be right, but when you sit it next to ‘Hendo’, ‘Robbo’, ‘Mo’ and all that cloying, obsequiously over familiar bullshit most commentators just can’t help themselves indulging in when it comes to Liverpool players - your argument becomes less convincing.

You may be right - but it’s just as likely because the British football media are desperate to ingratiate themselves with Liverpool’s acutely needy fanbase for commercial reasons, so necessarily play up to them in their commentary.

Genuinely don’t see that Trent is any better than Rico at defending, don’t see it at all. So much so that he can’t get a kick for England or Madrid, when he doesn’t have VVD covering for his flaws.

I’ve never seen Rico get dribbled past 10 times in one game, have you?

If Klopp couldn’t sort his defending out then Pep won’t either. But we don’t need him to. This drop in quality when Nunes is unavailable is more about the lack of quality right back options in the squad full stop. Nunes has improved but isn’t good enough to start for us at the level we are aiming to get back to. Trent in this team would elevate the attack to a whole new level. We won 6 league titles largely by having a much better attack than everyone else. Trent is an unreal footballer and going forward he would replace what Haaland has lost with KDB.

He’s better than what he showed in the final year with them lot but I can’t help thinking that his head was elsewhere and he was obviously talking to Madrid behind the scousers back and then having to avoid questions constantly about his future
His defending was ropey for several seasons. He had his place in the dips' team due to his forward play, which was excellent.

If he wants to come, then I'll take him in a heartbeat, no question asked.

But then comes the question: why the hell does he want to leave Madrid after just 1 year? Therefore it's not gonna happen.
