Media discussion - 2025/26

Based on what I’ve seen, not a chance it was that low. They’ve got form for this and did it a few years ago, when the Mail reported it as 9,000 higher.
It would help if the club confirmed the attendance immediately after the game as they used to do. Not sure why we are often the only home team in the papers with no attendance figure given.

Not sure which one it was, but the 5 Live commentator for PSG - Newcastle was gleefully saying City were out of the top 8 for a good five minutes at one point before anyone bothered to correct him. The whole evening was an embarrassment in terms of BBC coverage
No change there then

Rags and dippers on social media already claiming the attendance was actually 32k, lol, they're never happy, they had all the ammunition they needed in photos of empty seats and a 35k official attendance, yet they still want to make up an even lower figure. Tragic
If any Dippers say anything to me, I'll ask them if they read this in The Sun.
One Rag tried it and was advised that unlike them we don't allow away fans to take over the stadium and embarrass them like Rangers and Galatasaray whilst their cowards in black hid away as always when the numbers don't favour them.
Included this for good measure

I don’t get upset by lower attendances, it’s only another stick to beat us with, we can take it. We have a lot of fans who travel just from the UK, we have three midweek games on the bounce, that’s not easy for a lot of our supporters. The Premier League has stitched us and Everton up, three home mid week league games in Jan, Feb and March whilst the rags and dippers have none.

Are there any rags on here?? If so can you let me know what happened in Emmerdale last night.
The last time I watched that it was called Emmerdale Farm and Seth & Jackie were in it, plus Mr Wilkes behind the bar in the Woolpack.

As they aren’t in Europe but MUST be written about constantly in a vain desire for relevance, today’s daily Simon Stone PR special is a glowing hagiography of the odd lot’s *checks notes* caretaker assistant manager. Makes him sound like a combination of Cruyff, Shankly, Pep and Ancelotti
Right up near the top of the BBC football page. Its getting hilarious now

It's funny how BBC Sport could only fit 4 pictures in their headline photo and they decided to omit the most successful British team of the last decade, referring further down the page to how we "sneaked" into the last eight - dirty Arab oil money; sneaking in and undeservedly taking someone else's place.

I mean, who'd have thought it?

You missed something more crucial than that-they did include Newcastle who didn't make the top 8!
Chelsea should feel equally aggrieved.

I thought this as well.
But, if you press on the report, there's a big photo of Big Erl celebrating his Supah-Dupah goal...
