45 | Abdukodir Khusanov - 2025/26

Our most solid back four when everyone is fit would be KHUSANOV , DIAS , GUEHI , GVARDIOL , still not natural full backs but at least everyone of them is a defender , if we had RODRI & GONZALEV in front of our back four not much would get through us and we would be difficult to beat in the big games. Against cannon fodder we can play Nunes , O'Reilly at full back and a less defensive midfield. Really think this squad is beginning to shape up with plenty of options , the futures bright , the futures BLUE :)

I like @slbsn as a person and a fan but maybe all that legal work has given him near sightedness. I mean he reads what only 10 million legal documents everyday.

Now that's something AI should do for us everyday so we can focus on footy instead.

@Dax777 brain is fried and non functional apparently.

Here's the event:

45 seconds in.

Seems clear as day Akanji is running to deal with it but then stops abruptly and leaves Khusanov to deal with it alone while he's wrong footed and going the wrong way.

Then he just stands there while at least Khusanov rushes back to TRY AND BLOCK THE SHOT.

So much for being a good defender that's getting the job done. Akanji had some good games, but this is one of the bad ones.

Clearly Akanji's fuck up.
No if's, ands or buts about it!

Yikes! Even with video evidence you still cant get it right.

Let me help you;

1. Khus missed an easy ball completely in the air (first error),

Then Akanji sprints, into Khus's zone, to clean up, only to realize Khus has recovered with intent to clean up, and rather than have both of them collide and cause a mess attempting to do the same thing, he stops to let Khus (
who's zone they were in) to deal with it. (At best, this is a minor error - but a forgivable one considering the language barrier likely at play at the time.)

Then Khus miss-heads a potential back pass to his goalie. ( Major error 2)... He had multiple options. He chose the riskiest one and absolutely bungled it.

Anyone concluding this goal was Akanji's fault is either insane or trying to hard.... Seeing as I have read enough from you to know you are not insane, id conclude the latter.

Even if you never saw the sequence I just described above leading to the goal... You could simply deduce from common sense by looking at the individual reactions of all the players after the goal and easily resch the correct conclusion as to who must have been at fault.

The level of anguish on Khusanov's face was enough to clue even a blind man in on who was at fault. The player every teammate went to cheer up after the goal was another clue. The struggle to focus for another 5-10 minutes after the goal, also was a hint.

But hey, conclude what you want.

Edit: By the way I say all this as someone who considers Khus the best defender at the club. And I've felt this way for almost a year now.

Yes ,he was actually slow in that game coz the error damn near crippled his confidence both mentally and seemingly physically. By the 2nd half though we saw some evidence of that pace.

The next game he played he was flying!!!

Wank on the first goal. Dancing instead of clearing the lines and let Solanke bully him.

Fault mostly down to RAN who played them on tho

He was mostly fine, his pace is essential but too weak when it mattered for their first, got to be stronger there, dont need to win the ball just had to stay strong and makes use the striker wasnt going to turn and get a shot off. He'll learn from that, not the problem.
