@Dax777 brain is fried and non functional apparently.
Here's the event:
45 seconds in.
Seems clear as day Akanji is running to deal with it but then stops abruptly and leaves Khusanov to deal with it alone while he's wrong footed and going the wrong way.
Then he just stands there while at least Khusanov rushes back to TRY AND BLOCK THE SHOT.
So much for being a good defender that's getting the job done. Akanji had some good games, but this is one of the bad ones.
Clearly Akanji's fuck up.
No if's, ands or buts about it!
Yikes! Even with video evidence you still cant get it right.
Let me help you;
1. Khus missed an easy ball completely in the air (first error),
Then Akanji sprints, into Khus's zone, to clean up, only to realize Khus has recovered with intent to clean up, and rather than have both of them collide and cause a mess attempting to do the same thing, he stops to let Khus (
who's zone they were in) to deal with it. (At best, this is a minor error - but a forgivable one considering the language barrier likely at play at the time.)
Then Khus miss-heads a potential back pass to his goalie. ( Major error 2)... He had multiple options. He chose the riskiest one and absolutely bungled it.
Anyone concluding this goal was Akanji's fault is either insane or trying to hard.... Seeing as I have read enough from you to know you are not insane, id conclude the latter.
Even if you never saw the sequence I just described above leading to the goal... You could simply deduce from common sense by looking at the individual reactions of all the players after the goal and easily resch the correct conclusion as to who must have been at fault.
The level of anguish on Khusanov's face was enough to clue even a blind man in on who was at fault. The player every teammate went to cheer up after the goal was another clue. The struggle to focus for another 5-10 minutes after the goal, also was a hint.
But hey, conclude what you want.
Edit: By the way I say all this as someone who considers Khus the best defender at the club. And I've felt this way for almost a year now.
