Loan Watch - 2025/26

I know we are stacked in defence as it is, but I really hope Reis is brought back next season to avoid the risk of losing him to one of the big Spanish clubs.

He played really well against both Barcelona and Real Madrid and I hope he gets his chance at City.

I am still hopeful that Juma Bah could come good too, but would make sense for another loan for him for a year.

I’m not sure what’s happening with Nypan, the Boro fans seem to be happy with him whenever he gets minutes, but understand he played with U21s recently. Surprised he’s not been moved on in Jan as he is behind 3 very decent CMs in Hackney, Browne and Morris.

Hoping Echeverri tears it up in La liga and is actually given a chance to play
The Boro fans online I have seen haven't been impressed with him tbh. I'd recall him and send him Stoke.

Moyes has confirmed Jack is out for the rest of the season. Probably wouldn't have made world cup squad but definitely won't now.
Murmurs of Stones going there on loan

Nypan coming back according to the MEN? Weird one because they make a point of saying he wouldn't be eligible for the Premier League due to quota rules, but I swear any u21s are automatically eligible?

according to the information of the Manchester Evening News’ Simon Bajkowski, Manchester City are looking at bringing Sverre Nypan back into Pep Guardiola’s squad for the second half of the season.

The report highlights that Nypan has not started any of the last 18 matches for the north-east club, although City have been happy with his attitude, despite the plan to acclimatise the Norwegian midfielder with English football having not worked

I would imagine the more pressing need is to have him stay in the country and thus qualify as homegrown. Even if he hasn't played much, the experience on Teeside will have opened his eyes, and lungs, to what is required.

Did well to begin with and then started to show his age according to the Boro fans I know, bit too physical for him the championship at this moment, hence why he lost he place in the team, but his quality is there to see and did stand out at the beginning.

Yeah I dont get the ineligible claims. Its my understanding he'd be fine to play for us in the league (not that he would considering he cant get into the Boro side, with the exception of maybe getting a run out against Salford) cl he'd need to be registered but again, not going to play so we wouldnt bother.

If hes not playing a Boro and not likely to play, having him here in training, getting used to the level, settling in and playing in eds games would probably be more beneficial.

A lot of scouts keep tabs on our eds sides with how many players we've produced so it would likely be a better way of getting interest in him for a loan next season than sitting on Boro's bench.

A club’s Under-21 players are not included on the 25-man squad lists. These players are also eligible to play in the Premier League.

What constitutes an Under-21 player?

For the 2025/26 Premier League season, Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2004.

Nypan was born in Dec 2006. Do these hacks now just peddle AI slop without fact checking?

Saw that, thanks.
I had read earlier this year Echeverri had to be loaned out as there was no place in the squad for him.
Very confusing as you would think these reporters and football analysts would have a players Date of Birth at the top of their list

Saw this quote from Moyes. Think this is Everton showing a bit of class. Shows their intent on keeping him beyond his loan spell and are committed to seeing him through his injury.

It’s a shame how he was phased out at city. I still think he could’ve done a decent job in the middle for us last season.

Wish him all the best and he seems to be happy at Everton and they seem to appreciate him and his skillset
