Loan Watch - 2025/26

Heskey started for Wednesday and Ndala came on in the 73rd minute as they lost another game.

Vitor Reis is in the starting lineup for Girona against Barça, the match kicks off in one hour.

Reis just made a fantastic run with the ball vs Barca. He's likely to come back next season.
Rate him a lot but I think we are stacked with defenders. I think he would benefit from going to PL club next season or a Champions League team.

Dias, Guehi, Gvardiol, Khusa and Reis.

Stones and Ake to leave, Alleyne to be loaned out.

I think he is too good and talented to be 5th choice at this stage. Probably better to fill that with Max or Mfuni.

It's not a given he'll be 5th choice IF he continues to grow as a player at that rate. Technically wise, he's clearly above Khusa. Looks special on the ball while being solid defensively.

With a late kick-off for us, there's a chance to watch two of our young stars in Championship action.
Mukasa's Leicester KO at 12:30pm today, followed by Mfuni with Watford at 3pm.

Both top talents. I know your thoughts on our Youth @oldius, do you think they could both eventually make it here?

Do you think would Mukasa start off centrally or most likely be trialled on the wings if he were to return to the squad?

I think Mukasa is a very talented player. I see him more as an 8 - a Kovacic - and I think that is better for him because breaking in to our front-line is a hard, hard task. Ultimately, I think he is a top talent but I don't think he will have the patience to wait as Foden and Cherki are so young, and he will have a number of clubs wanting him.

I think Mfuni can make it with us. I think he will offer LB cover to begin with as Nico O moves into midfield permanently. I think he is a star, but the journey from 18 years of age to world-class (which is what he will need to be to command his place) is a long, long one.

Thank you for that Oldius.

Always love reading your insights into our academy players.

Thank you. I don't have any special insights, just my own opinions based on watching those players play, and an enthusiasm for the progress of young people through life; I hope they all make it to successful careers.
Enjoy the games.
