It's mainly fatigue for me, but lets be honest here, we weren't good in the first half either.Something is clearly going wrong in the second half of matches.
We are 2nd from what we managed to put together from mid September to mid December however the league is 9 months long not 3.We weren’t mentioned as title challengers by anyone at start of this season
Everyone said 3rd
We’re currently 2nd
Because it goes in cycles it's the reason Liverpool didn't win the League for twenty years and the reason ushited haven't since 2013. It's difficult to maintain. But if some City fans think the answer is to get rid of Pep I think that would be a mistake.he was very clear about us setting standards in previous years, but watching Liverpool winning title, PSG winning treble, now likely Arsenal winning title, while likes of Bayern and Barca both playing much better football generally than us, we need to catch up to these somehow while they all wanted to catch up to us 3/4 years ago.
feels like both Real and us are on bit of a decline, their issues maybe bit of laziness, too many egos, too comfortable, ours seem to be Pep's ideas aint as strong anymore, recruitment level dropped off, some of the hunger is gone too which was most noticable in the summer window of 2024, when Txiki and Pep decided lets not make serious investment have onne more go with old guard while they were past their prime/best big time, ad since then recruitment is bit odd with huge splurge in January windows, and likes of Marmoush, Reijnders aint becoming what we hoped them.
teams nowhere near as scared from us as they were 3/4 years ago. they knew they cannot outplay us or outfight us or outfox Pep. these days all of these happening quite often. managers were scared of City because of how hard we worked off the ball and how well we controlled the ball and tempo. most of this is completely gone, we cannot hold on to a 2-0 lead vs Spurs and it was about them being closer to a 3rd goal than us by the end. Donnarumma had more to do than Vicario says it all.
Everything goes in cycles as you say, including managers as wellBecause it goes in cycles it's the reason Liverpool didn't win the League for twenty years and the reason ushited haven't since 2013. It's difficult to maintain. But if some City fans think the answer is to get rid of Pep I think that would be a mistake.
Me and my mate was talking about this the other day and he says,""Imagine when we were younger and some body who can tell the future , stay with it as mad as this sounds, pops up and tells us both that in 2026 City have a manager who has won us eighteen major trophies and that some City fans want him gone because we are in transition and not playing as well as before but we are 2nd in the League and in the knockout stage of the champs League and still in the FA Cup and also nearly at Wembley in the League Cup,you would think these fans were off their collective heads.Everything goes in cycles as you say, including managers as well
Yes. I think they will.Could it be that although the rags are unlikly to catch the arse, their is every chance with the help of pigmol and the media, that they could catch us. Giving the American cartel first and second place. The English game is owned by these cunts now. Proving it with the 115 and on the pitch.
I‘m not arsed about the Palestine stuff at all. But I do feel like he hasn‘t got quite the same fire.I absolutely love Pep, he has given us some of the best days of our lives... but i am not sure his heart is in it anymore.
He's getting on a flight midway through the week to Barcelona to give a pro Palestine speech. Whether we agree or whether we disagree with his political standpoint, should a manager that is going for the league title be doing this before a very important game on the weekend?
How do you expect the players to be motivated for the game when their manager is sauntering off to Barcelona 2-3 days before a big game v Spurs?
Could you imagine Arteta getting on a plane to Barcelona and letting the coaching staff take control of the training sessions and the media duties whilst he was away?
It's unprofessional and it's unacceptable.
The Pep Guardiola of 4-5 years ago that had that hunger in his eyes and fire in his belly wouldn't have done this. I feel as though he's mentally checked out of this job. Gutted.
Correct . Never heard anyone ever say pep should be sacked but he does need to go at the end of the season as it’s becoming clear in my eyes that the dressing room is off and once that starts it’s over and he’s not helping himself either I mean Mamoush scores last week and now can’t get near the pitch and the big man cones back and tbh I don’t think he scores another 5 league goals this campaign and also starting to moan every week about decisions going against us is also very unpep .no one wants him sacked, they want it to be his last season. Fresh ideas are needed
Well let’s not forget he’s getting ridiculous money to get the his sorted and he hasn’t really done anything last two seasons and no he shouldn’t be going over to Barca to give political speeches either .I‘m not arsed about the Palestine stuff at all. But I do feel like he hasn‘t got quite the same fire.
Not really a criticism. Wouldn’t necessarily say he’s ‚checked out’. Just lost a bit of drive. Probably inevitable after so much success over 10 years. Or just from getting older over 10 years.
I also find it a bit difficult to think that he is genuinely excited by the kind of football we‘re now trying to play. He‘s spent 20 years insisting that his teams will only ever play one way, to one set of principles. I can‘t imagine it really stirs him to see us struggling to string three passes around at the back under any kind of pressure, before someone lumps it forward or squints it out of play.
In your opinion, mate. Which is absolutely valid.Well let’s not forget he’s getting ridiculous money to get the his sorted and he hasn’t really done anything last two seasons and no he shouldn’t be going over to Barca to give political speeches either .
Correct we support Manchester City and pep fc which I think a lot in here forget and yes he’s been legendary for us and will be the best but he also gets paid crazy money to sort this and is it fair that supporters are spending probably most of their wages watching this dross week in week out and befire anyone says the old days need to remember that the old days have gone and we are now a European powerhouse who should be fighting for titles every season . Pep should have gone after 4 in a row and now that decision has set us back probably years now .No he can’t, he can stay as long as him staying is the best thing for the club.
You’re absolutely correct but some of us don’t want him sacked, we just think it’s naturally ran its course and both parties need a change, he probably needs a long break. A grown up conversation behind the scenes, where he walks away at the end of either this season or next is where it’s going. He’ll quite rightly get the biggest thank you when he does leave.Me and my mate was talking about this the other day and he says,""Imagine when we were younger and some body who can tell the future , stay with it as mad as this sounds, pops up and tells us bo that in 2026 City have a manager who win us eighteen major trophies and some City want him gone because we are 2nd in the League and in the knockout stage of the champs League and still in the FA Cup and also nerly at Wembley in the League Cup,you would think these fans were of their collective heads.
And then who ?You’re absolutely correct but some of us don’t want him sacked, we just think it’s naturally ran its course and both parties need a change, he probably needs a long break. A grown up conversation behind the scenes, where he walks away at the end of either this season or next is where it’s going. He’ll quite rightly get the biggest thank you when he does leave.
Enrique is the most obvious choiceAnd then who ?
Not a given that we get him.Enrique is the most obvious choice
