Is the league, for want of a better word, ‘bent’?

Might have already been said, but I can’t actually recall the last time I felt like we’d ’got away with one’ or where there was a controversial call in our favour.

To all those who say it evens itself out, if that’s the case we can expect an influx of generous decisions between now and May. Don’t worry, I’m not going to hold my breath.

so do you...and others as well

and as i said i the previous post... if that happens I'll keep replying and arguing the opposite point as its what I believe and i disagree with what is being said by some

...dont like it, dont read, put me on ignore or whatever.....upto you
Best thing I’ve heard from you. Goodbye!

No doubt about it - bent in plain sight - and VAR is the icing on the cake

many also agree with my opinion

I do believe that refereeing is inconsistent....that is the nature of human beings however...everyone makes mistakes or has different interpritations of the an incident even when looking at the same incident

I agree that it was a foul on Guehi ...only on replay did I see it but yes it was a foul...do I believe the ref made a mistake...yes..do i think it is cheating or clear bias (which is basically cheating) no. Im certainly not saying he is right or wrong....Im saying that if he fully believes that its corrupt and cheating and bent then there would be little point in watching as the outcome of games would always be against us...(which actually rarely happens)

I did not say that people should stop watching football (City) cause they disagree with me - you are misinterpriting my words completely - what I meant was that if people believe it is bent what is the point of watching...I certainly wouldnt waste my time if I believed the game was rigged...there would be no point to it

But that is the argument that everybody with the same opinions as yourself use, in an attempt to diminish the opinions of those who do not agree with your stance.

Others believe there is corruption from PGMOL employees, and you don't. That is fine but don't try to force your opinions on to others because they disagree with you, by adopting a superior and incredulous attitude .

However you choose to frame them, your arguments have no more validity than those of anybody else on this forum. They are just your opions.

Touch’s on the bentnesss a few times.

He knows we are treated differently and also knows it won’t make a difference if we speak about it or not.

Not a great position for us.

What a good person tho. Best we will ever have imo. We get infuriated with the football but how can u not love baldy -:)

Stay forever, il just have to lose the plot weekly and accept the high line.

“we can see the images, you disagree, nothing will change”. One opinion v another. Protect the system.

We are fucked, also interesting to see pep has been driving the no comment even from the top brass. It won’t change how they view us as big spending, cheats.

Some wanker was trying to goad him by using the letter of the law lol. Trying to say it wasn’t a foul on mark. We are most definitely in an age of serious disinformation. Actually trying to tell pep that the picture he seen of the incident is not real but what he is saying is real based on the laws.

When did people become so fucking annoying with always having to argue black is white. Tedious shit.

I assume you’ll be suggesting the same to the posters that think Simon is only posting to be contrary, given that all opinions are equally valid.

Since I was a kid I’ve pretty much followed most sports. Grandstand was always on all day sat and after that sky sports new was the wallpaper. Over the past 30yrs I’ve whittled that down to city matches and England RU matches. I dont bother with much else due to the instagramming of most sports folk and obvious creeping manipulation of results. Im gradually moving away from watching city in person and can see a future where I don’t bother at all. So to answer your post I’m slowly beginning to agree there is no point in watching anymore.
I mentioned it to you previously but the bad sports collection of documentaries on Netflix is defo worth a go. It covers various sports and is done quite well.

Yep. That's the way it is. Gradual movement to saturation coverage and "entertainmentisation" of all sport. They are all just sports - competition with rules to ensure fairness. The sort of thing the English used to be good at making. It's not difficult.

I realised I had reached a tipping point at the weekend. I was watching the abomination that was the City and referee performance almost emotionless, it was just washing over me. A few years ago I would have been fuming with heart racing. Not any more. Sixty years of watching City means I can't break the habit but the enjoyment has been sucked out of it.

I have some sympathy with the "Why watch it, then?" naysayers - we all know what the PL wants this season, for example - but you know, and they know, and everybody knows, it's almost impossible to give it up. But when millions more people eventually reach that tipping point, the game will have a problem. And it will serve the administrators of the game right. The cunts.

Every teams forums has fans saying the officials are against them.

Actually when teams further down the table play City, their fans express their worries that officials heavily favour city and other big clubs. Yes; they put us in the category of big clubs that get decisions against their side.

We will refute those claims, just like fans of clubs we accuse of getting favours do.

So who is right?
The bookie.

I said I knew who would be replying in this thread with their Bingo comment bollocks. And by God was I right. The same people who were saying ten years ago that there was no media bias. They were wrong then and they are wrong now.

It's like some sort of badge of honour to be wishy-washy. They probably read the Guardian, smoke pipes and wear socks with sandals.

Just go and watch AFTV, or that twat goldrbridge.....Every week they complain about VAR, bias, that we are buying the league that we are treated differently, that its unfair with the 115 etc etc etc....all things that tey think the league is bias towards us for.

The fact that you dont listen to what other fans say suggests that your view of things is ONLY from one perspective (ie your and a man city perspective) which is what I have been saying - you arent seeing others perspectives on it...and if your answer to that is that you dont care what other fans think then that is where the issue lies.
Answer my question then, as you spend time watching AFTV and Goldbridge;

What pivotal decisions are Arsenal fans complaining about this season?

You've already said that Arsenal fans are complaining about pivotal decisions against them this year, why don't you share them with us?

At no point have I said I'm not interested in what other fans are saying, that's literally why I'm asking you to tell me what they've been saying as you clearly said they'd been complaining about pivotal decisions going against them.

It still baffles me to this day how no journalists real dug deep into how the pl were going to achieve this.

He says 'we have plan for a different name on the trophy every six years.'

That can only be achieved by cheating, controlling the results, be that by refs, now var, or teams agreeing to throw matches.

It's blows my mind that they wasn't a huge uproar about this

Yep.

It changes who it favours and what outcomes it wants to encourage, but absolutely.

Absolute game changers…… no other team has this many pivatol decisions against them.
Something is wrong somewhere.
I cannot think of any against rags, dippers gooners.

Maybe the odd one but it aint nothing on Citys level maybe the fact that Klopp and co kicked off such a fuss that they simply darent get it wrong ...............do City though ??????
If fook all is said then there gonna keep doing it sadly should have called out ages ago for what it really is ...............imagine going into a big game knowing that there is a big chance of a dodgy decision

My opinions of simon's posts are pretty constant. Some good, some bad, some wrong.

It's what a forum is for, as is often quoted. By you also I assume ?

And other posters opinions are exactly that. I don't have to agree or disagree, as you are only too aware.

They may be consistent, but only to the side you seem to disagree with…

Watch what happens on Sunday at Anfield. Watch the leniency afforded the home side: in particular watch the dippers defending set-pieces, corners etc. And see how the ref ignores the lot. Even the most vicious two-footed lunge from a dipper on a City player will be overlooked. Then see how we are penalised and carded for moving the ball 6 inches from the original exit point at a throw-in. See how the ref will stride purposefully over with a frown on his face as he flourishes a yellow card because a City player took his time over a free kick.

Today, Wednesday 4th February 2026, we all of us know with absolute certainty that we are going to be cheated out of a win on Sunday. It is not a flight of fantasy, it is not paranoia on our behalf, it is a mere acceptance that we KNOW we will be shafted one way or another against the dippers.

Sadly I think you may be right.
