Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Let’s be honest.

Up to the first goal the Geordies were loud.

After that they were shit for the remainder of the match.

Their support and fans are no different to ours.

Yet, just like the Scousers, they have this mythical reputation of being great supporters.

They aren’t.
I didn’t think they were loud at all, heard many clubs fans with the normal 3,000 PL allocation a lot louder.

Maybe because they haven't had access to tickets for years so aren't going to just turn up again because viagogo or the likes aren't able to get 100 quid of some tourists so City need them again
I agree. The club have priced out and alienated fans for years. Basically told them we don’t really want you for the big games that mean a lot as well. They shouldn’t just then expect those same fans to come crawling back for cheaper games because the tourists can’t be arsed

No denying its a piss poor turnout. There are fair, legitimate reasons that contributed to it without fully excusing it. namely the shitshow with ticketing which is majorly putting people off.

pricing is never cheap, it's always right on the cusp of what they think they can squeeze out of us.

with us approaching 25 visits to wembley under Pep alone and never even having had any subsidized travel, it's a bloody expensive habit and so now People understandably skip semi-finals to get a headstart on saving for a final. That's why we now always have low turnout for an FA Cup semi-final and its entirely understandable.

These teams that reach wembley for the first time in their lifetime have absolutely no perspective on what it's like going there nearly 3 times a season, every season. some of these fans that criticise get bored if they get a team in the cup they've recently played and don't bother with both. now imagine getting that team in both cups and the ticket prices are a minimum 4-5times the usual cost. Then imagine having that scenario every season on repeat for a decade. Isn't a set of fanbase in thr world that wouldnt see a major drop off in appetite to attend if they were in our situation.

I’m in the North east but at my folks in Wilmslow for the next Newcastle game and was on trainline tonight and there aren’t any trains back there after 10.30 on that Saturday night.
That has got to keep people away.
I’ll drive park up wont be able to have a beer.If its on TV folk will just not be arsed just like Wembley when you HAVE to leave early to get the last train North.

Definitely weird acoustics at the ground..moved from SS3 to 017 and couldn't hear the Geordies at all.. possibly because I was under the roof but near the back..but when I'm in SS3 it's hard to hear the lower tiers.
Enjoyed the atmosphere tonight.but prefer the view and atmosphere in SS3.

I’m sorry but it’s just impossible to defend compared to other ‘big clubs’ these days. It’s indefensible for the ones that don’t turn up and it’s indefensible for the ones that do turn up. We are woeful. I try to be the most stoic defender of our clubs fans but a semi final tonight was treated with as much contempt as a second round tie at home to a league 2 team and anyone who thinks it was better than that is delusional

Because we're in them every year Chris. No jeapordy, almost guaranteed to get to Wembley. Save your money for the final
I know there are legitimate reasons for many fans and I know that the club are making a right balls up of the ticketing.. but I know at least 1 lad who simply “couldn’t be arsed” and he had a ticket!!

Light show and prematch music volume too overwhelming. It's like chanting into an aircraft engine.

Not enough cries of "6-7" for my liking. Give your head a wobble if it was your adult voices doing so.

The phone torches like at a pop concert are a nice touch. They dazzle anyone looking up at the collection of unoccupied seating.

There's a weirdness about our club right now and it's odd. Being around people who turn up to an odd game and diss the atmosphere whilst not adding much to it is really sapping.

Two undercover Geordies near us sat on their hands and kept quiet. Meanwhile, I couldn't transfer a mate's ticket to my friend. Make it make sense.

I'm starting to see the appeal of the armchair football fan. I can tolerate cack performances, under-par efforts by players, but the way our fanbase has been alienated and transitioned to a budget Old Trafford tourist camp is really disheartening.

Enjoyed it tonight in 011 again. Obviously some SS3 moved in our section and atmosphere was superb ! Noticeable lack of tourists as well , give me tonight with empty seats than a ground full of tourists . Up the blues !

Decent support in 011, good atmosphere created by the flow from the South stand through the East stand,
with the away support tucked away in the 3rd tier.

We are 70 mins away by train although 8pm kickoffs thanks to our shite transport infrastructure mean we would have to leave at 55 mins or sleep at station. Watching at home in the warm better beer and seeing whole game whilst saving £200 wins. We are going for the 80 min dash for Fulham though.
