Seat Counters 25/26

It’s all well and good giving the tickets away to kids but the motive stinks of better get the ground looking full
I’m more interested when little Johnny or Jenny or possibly jennyjohn gets home and wants Mummy or Daddy to get a ticket for the next game or even a season ticket for next year in that shiny new stand ffs not a Fukin chance of getting that one over the line Daddy

Has empty seats and early leavers been mentioned yet :-(
What about “regulars” being “bigger fans” than Blues who turn up each week and get behind the lads?? I’ve not seen that posted for at least a day.

Also, what about the Blues so passionate about the next generation of fans that they begrudge a few hundred tickets going to school kids!

Broadly agree though I'd priorities citizens members who've purchased league cup matches this season over non cup scheme season card holders. It'll never happen but just think they should be rewarded
As a ST holder who has only managed 1 cup game all season I agree, why should I get to go ahead of those who’ve gone to all or many of the games - not that it’ll be a problem to get a Wembley ticket imo

I don’t begrudge school kids getting freebies.

At the same time I feel for those parents who scrape and scrimper to get tickets when clearly so many are given away. Why not offer discounts based on cup attendance (cup scheme £5 yes) I mean those who purchase as they go along. No way to please everyone but feel the club could do more for those in this category.

Fair points. The Club is run by ruthless business people. That’s said, I do get the feeling from most of the Blues I know that they would rather leave their kids at home for a midweek game so they can go for a few pints before the game.

On a wider point not about your post. there’s going to thousands of extra season cards / flexis next season that worked out £9 a game for juniors this season. The same price Liverpool football club are lauded for.

Curiosity what does the adult price work out at? I’ve not looked so I can’t pretend to know. It’s good to see some cheap tickets for kids, just hope the accompanying parents is relatively good value per game.

I’m a realist we can’t except every cup game £20 etc, I do look at some midweek games and think it was missed opportunities to capture more fans either due to results / scenes in the home end (feyenord for me last year was the nail for CL scheme) it all causes a gradual knock on effect the cup scheme attendees have been chipped away largely due to feeling it’s not worth it, or being lumbered with crap situations imo.

I just buy them as and when now, I did go last night. Most people I know however didn’t but will go to the final and they know they’ll get a ticket.

Wouldn’t surprise me in future for city to take a leaf out of other clubs and enforce attendance to the cup or go to the back of the queue for final tickets even if you have a season ticket.

The adult ticket prices per game (on the flexi) were were 1/19th of the price of season cards in that area of the ground. Adults would need to attend between 7 and 10 games to get those prices though. The individual match ticket prices were reduced this season but they are still expensive.

You make a good point about fans knowing that they will get tickets for the final. I also think Blues who could only get tickets for the lower profile Prem and Cup games a couple of years ago now know they can get in the big games. That might affect midweek attendances in January and February.

Last season the 10.57pm train after the game to West Yorkshire would be filled with Asian Blues. A mixture of young British lads and students from the far East. Those numbers have dwindled and maybe they’ve lost interest or have worked out they can get tickets for the bigger games. Maybe some feel less welcome in the current political climate.

Whatever the problems are the club needs to sort it asap . No doubt some of the brains employed are earning very good salaries, I’d suggest they better start earning them .

City have always given tickets to local schools since the 1960s. I went as a kid several times in the 70s. The motive doesn’t stink at all. City does more for its local community and always has done than virtually any other club in the PL.

It's these younger generations we want to be capturing. We've got lots of seats to fill and it would be great to have lots of younger fans coming in as they secure the future of the club. Most of us have seen City win the lot but there are so many out there that can bring fresh energy to the club and only know City as a successful side. They can help drive the standards from the stands where some of our more seasoned fans don't quite have the energy for it anymore!

You totally miss my point

In the 60 and 70 s in fact upto this regime you asked your Dad the next game you wanted to go and he took you
He didn’t have to pay £35 up front to then attempt to make your day ffs
And your wrong on the intentions last night those tickets weren’t available when the tickets were first released but hay ho nice to have the BM police on my case ffs

Didn’t see a single half and half scarf last night before, during, or after the match. Don’t pay attention to the attention-seekers who phone up radio stations.

You won't get many on a winters night in what they consider a non glamorous match.

I think it's a load of factors repeatedly adding up to a larger number.

1. Higher ticket prices have slowly turned away a load of otherwise die-hard fans
2. Ticket policies have made it increasingly difficult to just pass your ticket onto a mate if you can't go
3. We play more home games than any team outside London and it adds up financially, so people pick and choose
4. Travel options to and from the ground aren't up to standard for quickly moving 50,000 people
5. Season ticket holders not coming to cup games and not selling their ticket back to City
6. Large batches of seats being withheld by City and sold to tourists on Viagogo
7. City fans saving their money for bigger games than (what was essentially) a dead rubber before another Wembley trip
8. At least 4-5,000 are generally missing from midweek night games in the cup (always been this way)

If each of the items in the list affect, say, 1,000 people, then you're gonna be down at 44,000 anyway.

You can't sell cup tickets on the exchange. No idea why not but you can't.

Season ticket holder at the Etihad since 2006, now I have 3 kids, 13,11 and 6. I go with my Grandad who sits next to me in CBL3. and would love to get 3 x season tickets for the kids, even if it meant relocating.

Unfortunately, it seems like I would have to buy 35 individual tickets over 3 seasons to even qualify on a wishful thinking list, sorry but that's impossible, I can't have a 13,11 and 6 year olds sitting on their own.

Can anyone explain a pathway for me to get season tickets for my kids? or is buying tickets to Salford, league cups we are already 2-0 up or heavily rotated teams in the CL on a school night the only way over 3 seasons?

PS sort the transfer situation out City, I literally have fans on my road I am I could email the tickets too, you have just made the barrier to transfer when I cannot go an absolute pain in the arse, so I am off the League cup scheme now, I will drop the CL and FA cup next, rather than attend the majority and give the family on my road the spares when I cannot make it.

Last year I passed them an old mobile to scan in, this year - that does not work as our season tickets are downloaded on my phone and Grandads, due to the 2 limit download. They don't have memberships and the whole process seems like a pain in the arse with nomination windows, nothing on the spur of the moment can be done now. I cannot pre plan 6 months in advance if I will or won't be present at a game, and not always the same friend will be able to pass the ticket too, it would be nice to easily be able to sort tickets out for a friend.

Sorry for the rant, but the club needs to address the THOUSANDS of fans who are season ticket holders, who want to introduce more fans to the club for 20+ games per season, how many are dads with no way to get their kids / teens in? It's basically impossible now and the father son cycle is pretty much dead.

THE FIX:
-Introduce 10,000 season tickets with mandatory League cup payments = problem fixed.
-5,000 for existing seaston ticket holder fans who want to add family, 5,000 for those teens / adults who have attended 35 games over 3 seasons.
-Make it easier to transfer tickets to a wider social circle for games you cannot attend.
-BUY BIG ASDA and build the biggest multi story carpark known to man, think Universal Orlando with a massive walkway (Literally citywalk) to the back side of the stadium- you WILL NOT stop fans wanting to drive to games no matter how many busses you promise that take forever to go anywhere, or trams that are packed like sardines. People want comfort. You can make it a great park & ride for the other 330 days of the year, get co-op using it, airport parking etc.

it's NOT hard just needs some brains in the room.
