I'd go with that and playing deeper than usual, to give the pace up front some room in which to work.Donnarumma

Solid back 4, no bombing on, stay as a back 4 all game. midfield 2 that stay as a midfield 2 which means no sending bernardo to press the keeper for no reason at all then the directness of a mobile and pacy attack with 3 runners all behind haaland.
Dont go for control, we can't control games, play fast and direct. That is what every team did to the dippers when they were losing by 3 goals every week, that weakness is still there to exploit. Then we've got cherki on the bench as a late sub if we need something different.
If we try and control the game and overload them I can see what will happen now, it's very easy to predict. we'll struggle to get put of our own third, they'll press us into turnover after turnover which they'll eventually punish us for before we collapse and they add a few more. we'll have next to no success going forward ourselves as we cant keep the ball well enough to mount any pressure resulting in 1-2 shots at goal all game.
All about the gameplan. Peps got pep2 right there, use him to exploit the dippers weaknesses. We now have the players to cause them many problems.
Would also be huge if Doku was anyway available, even off the bench for 20 minutes, he terrorises them.
That's surprising - maybe they're not counting the times that he simply reaches the ball first as a 'duel'?I think Khusa is likely to start but he's still quite raw. He wins fewer duels than any of our main CBs and FBs, including Ake. He's never won more than 5 duels in a PL game (StatMuse), whereas Gvardiol and Dias win 7-8 per game, and Guehi won 10 at Spurs (Khusa just 3).
What's the explanation? Guess his positioning isn't that great. He doesn't read the game as well as the more experienced CBs, which is normal. Let's hope he'll have a great game at Anfield.
My point was the team clearly isn’t right if Rodri is having to win that many duels. That’s more my point is that he’s been getting exposed because we’re playing basketball style football. If we continue to do that we aren’t gonna get Rodri back to his best. Not sure about the point you are making. The other City players including the defenders won a lot fewer duels than Rodri. O'Reilly played next to him and won 5 duels (about 1/3 of Rodri's).
Also, worse teams than City have to defend a lot more than City, yet their players win fewer duels than Rodri.
He isn't at his physical best (obviously) and is expected to improve, but his performances haven't been half as bad as many on here have described them.
You can also be a realist.Meh. We'll win it. I'll be positive unlike 99% here.
Sometimes you have to invite positivity in instead of being a feckless, miserable sod.
3-1 City
